And what influence do Ricky and Mal have in appointing him. What a dumb comment.“He’s got support from Benji, Ricky Stuart likes it, Mal (Meninga) likes it, Laurie Daley likes it.”
Pretty sure he is working with the HM boysMaybe start him in the lower grades like HM, SG Ball etc..
Whatever we may think about Buzz's opinions, he definitely has an ear to the ground at WT. Or is that a glass to the wall? What a lot of rubbish. Rothfield still trying to pick our coach so he can say , I told you first. All those mentioned are mates of Sheens and are naturally going to support him. Api did not advocate for Sheens to be coach. He merely sat on the fence in case he became coach. If we are going to listen to Rothfield, lets go with one of the few, and first sensible candidates he suggested and go with Flanigan and put this crap to bed quickly. Time to do something credible.
Maybe Laurie can give us the odds? And what influence do Ricky and Mal have in appointing him. What a dumb comment.
Strong push to make it happen...Webster not interested, taking up the Warriors gigJust fold the joint if that's the best these imbeciles can come up with.
Sheens HC with Farah and Marshall as his assistantsStrong push to make it happen...Webster not interested, taking up the Warriors gig
I thought this was an extended joke, they cant be seriousSheens HC with Farah and Marshall as his assistants
If I was CC, I wouldn't have even entertained the idea. Better to stay at Penrith and wait for a better option. It's too much for someone wanting to make a career out of coaching in the NRL by trying to fix WTs.I can see Sheens doing it for a couple of years and then Ciraldo saying no to us again.
What about Woolfe? Is there no interest there?
No jokes. It's under serious consideration at WT HQI thought this was an extended joke, they cant be serious
The writing was on the wall when both Farah and Sheens were in the box the first week after Madge was sacked. That was really bad optics considering neither of them were ever in the box with Madge. Not sure where Benji was. His suit was probably at the dry cleaners.I thought this was an extended joke, they cant be serious
Pretty sure he is working with the HM boys
Sorry but the past is exactly that - he should have been kept there. There is no camelot or King Arthur, Robbie or Benji.Only bloke who can get us out of this mess we see ourselves in is sheens imo
Can you imagine how old Balmain Bug is coping with the possibly of Sheena taking the role again.
The question is: who needs to be sacked, in your opinion, for this all to be fixed?
They've sacked several coaches and recruitment staff, assistant coaches, pathways people over the 2 decades, so that's been attempted. We've had several CEOs come and go, though I assume you'd advocate for Pascoe to get the punt, we also cannot forget that we were not successful with Pascoe's predecessors either (Pascoe has "only" been CEO for 6 years and we've failed to make the finals far more often than that).
I do not agree with your contention that there is necessarily a toxic environment, indicated by a handful of releases. We also released Marty Taupau and Blake Austin early, but there is no evidence of menace or malpractice in these, or Luch, other than we were outbid and made a tactical decision to cash the funds early rather than persist with a player who is leaving.
We early-released Gareth Ellis on compassionate grounds; Benji Marshall also got a release for rugby, and you need to consider each release on its own merits rather than just clump every "release" together as some sort of key indicator of "toxicity".
Releases are also very common now - even just yesterday Warriors released Reece Walsh, Broncos are reportedly releasing TMM and Raiders releasing CNK. Raiders released George Williams and Titans released Jamal Fogerty to take up that position. Even just recently Tigers secured early releases for Offa, Daine Laurie, Ken M, Doueihi etc.
My opinion on the releases is that Tigers' basic issue is not a toxic culture, it's a lack of a winning culture. They are distinct - one is an unpleasant workplace, the other is a reasonable workplace but the team does not achieve high success. And rugby league is an atypical workplace because most jobs you don't have the competition literally physically trying to stop you achieving.
Moses, Matterson and Aloiai all agitated for a release for higher pay at clubs with a better chance of playing finals football. The mechanism they used was disrespectful, but Matterson in particular has proven that is his typical MO and not specific to the Tigers.
Of course it stands to logic that if a more successful club comes to a Tigers player with a bigger offer, that player may be incentivised to try and leave. No different to Stefano asking Eels for a release once he signed his Tigers deal.

Pascoe is a common denominator since 2016, I don't know him personally and want him to succeed but I feel it's beyond him. He cost us a 700k Cap fine, got suspended for 6 months. How can we expect him to know the intricacies of running an NRL Club when he didn't know that one of his closest friends (Ivan)was negotiating with a rival Club or the fact he was unaware that The Big 4s Manager was leading us a merry dance. I repeat, i truly want him, the Chairman and any Coach to succeed, but the culture and environment is not conducive to success. The question is: who needs to be sacked, in your opinion, for this all to be fixed?
