He should never have been played in a position he's not used to. He had a shocker on the edge in NSW cup, and then was a different player when moved to lock.Matamua seems to have potential and it's OK to develop young players at this point of a dead season, but his penalties are costing games.
Against Panthers he cost a try with an obstruction and conceded a penalty in the set that led to the winning Panthers try.
He's only 19 and still learning, and we are missing injured forwards, but is he ready for 1st grade?
If you're going to play a player to blood him for next year, at least play him in his natural position.
No doubt he cost us the game yesterday, but both clangers where he was in uncomfortable position where he doesn't normally play which totally could have been avoided.
