Luke Brooks - Mega Thread

I have a feeling Sheens has put the $150k from Noffa and Gildart straight into front-ending Brooksy's salary for next year. I think if we are paying only 350k or so for Brooks to be playing elsewhere next year, I'd take that.

more like take the 350k off Brooks 1 million contract for 2023 and he is worth 650k to the salary cap for 2023 and he stays with the Tigers and plays with douhie and Hastings. That way 2023 all three are on the same salary give or take for 2023

Not sure what you mean, let's say he's on 1m next year. We make it 850k by putting 150k from this year in there. I think many club would be willing to pay at least 500k (the masterstroke has been playing him at 9 at times this year, teams may see him as a utility/half) so we are only paying $350k for him to pay elsewhere next year. That to me sounds more reasonable than paying 60% of his salary to play elsewhere.

we have nofo and gildartcmoney from this year plus unspent cap from this year front load it to Brooks for 2023 and keep him at tigers. if we dont sign Madden then his money for 2023 could go to Brooks also

Makes great sense actually. If we pay 500k for Brooks fro. This years cap then its 1.8 over 3 or 600k a year. However he is eligible for the long serving players part of the cap which is up to 188k a year so we are only paying 422k/ year for Brooks. That is great value and we woukdnt get better at market for 422k

Can't get much more confident than letting a 300 gamer go early on a French Holiday
like they were last year.
I wonder how anyone is confident of anything at the Knights this year....
They're more clueless than us.

Their coach isn't confident he'll be there next week even
- When he's talking to journalists to ask what the gossip is about him, You'd reckon you'd be in trouble.

Brooks and Madden are to me pretty much a wash. They can both play but they are both not going to be your marquee half. We have Doueihi for that role.

If Brooks is on fair dollars to us it makes sense.

You can't have Brooks on more than Hastings or Doueihi though. That is just dumb.

I think 600k is pushing it for Brooks but it's probably not far off.

Surely Madden would be demanding more than 250k to be the first string half back if that was to some how come off.

Madden will want more than 250, give him a great pay rise and make him starting half with AD. Brooks to reserve grade. There isn't a good spot for him on the bench. Otherwise we will lose Madden to some other team and watch him dominate.

Still seems excessive to be paying Brooks 400k or so for reserve grade. I think we should punt him and pay half his wage. Still seems better value.

We are in this weird mood where we give Brooks ownership of the team but he won't take ownership. Will be so great if he's not involved
