I agree,and I think Staines will only get better and better as a player with more games in the top grade under his belt.

Bob Borland, Les Mara, Ron Clothier are a few names that come to mind and I think Len Killeen might have also had a year or two at Penrith

Dennis Tutty is probably the best known ex-Balmain player that went over to Penrith. Not sure, but I think Keith Outten did as well.

It's wrong on the NRL website.

Gilbert signed with them on a three-year deal.

Souths paid $150k on top of what the tigers paid for the first 2 years he was at the tigers. That has ended now. The tigers paid him $450k every year for 4 years.

Credit where it's due smart work by the recruitment team with the Staines deal. If he goes well then opportunity to extend and incentive for Staines to increase his value by performing well.
