Terrible terrible decision re Hastings... Hastings not being considered a 7 and picking Bateman over Hastings are two big mistakes by Sheens. And yet somehow Brooks still survives... astonished

I don't think the talk of Bateman coming had anything to do with it. The fact is he wasn't going to play 7 here and didn't want to play at 13 or 14. Newcastle offered him the 7 jersey and a hefty pay rise. No brainer really - good luck to him.

Fonua Pole extension news is excellent. Typically the kind of player we’d lose but the investment in youth seems to be working.

Of the crop that came through this year I thought he seemed most at home in first grade.

When you think about Utoikamanu, Pole, Matamua, Klemmer, Papali’i, Koroisau, you’ve got a big bunch of bodies to contend with.

Plenty to be excited about in the forwards which isn’t something you could traditionally say about a Wests Tigers team.

I want Pole to be an "off the back fence" style of runner.

Yeah I think he had some links to Redcliffe too. But maybe he idolised Benji growing up...who knows. The timing could work out alright with a Top 30 spot for a backup half now available with us.

I just can't believe this.

It was obvious even with Jackson's downsides,he was the best organizer we've
had in ages.He played behind a beaten pack too just like Brooks.

We've always had the troops blamed for general Brooks.

Can't you read ? Brooks and AD have contracts we have no choice for 23. I mentioned LB as well as AD being shown the door ! We are a long way from a premiership, most of the players in the comp will have retired by the time we finish in the top 2 (if ever) . The aim is to build a competitive side, grow and develop juniors , and buy and discard players as needed. It,s not to pander to forum favourites who have no clue,

Yes he gets them wrong a lot. Again though Penrith have another class player at 6 who has a short kicking game also so it reduces the pressure on him. I know why people bag him for it but still think his poor kicking is often a result of pressure.

Douehi is still unproven in my eyes. Can see the concern he has an over inflated opinion of his worth but if he backs it up with a good season hats off to him and if he doesn't - egg on his face
