Because the team announcement thread still runs right up to that point. Just like walking into game with your mates and a program stuck in you back pocket.
Have a look at last year, the team announcement thread contained banter right up to game time.
The reason we chose an hour before is because last season sometimes the thread wouldn't go up till just before the game and we'd get reminders to put it up.
Next year the team list, and live game thread will have more of an appetizer to start the thread off, comments from the WT site and other important statements.
We haven't even got that far, give it a chance.
I sure you'll be happy once we get used to it.
If people don't like it and want to go back to slap hazard stuff so be it.
It's got nothing to do with control Ink, it's all about ensuring EVERYBODY has the best game day experience they can get.
Give it ago mate.

No that is the number that was quoted by several media outlets during the finals, he is on $800k with a chance to rise $900K if they won the premiership, which they didn't
 
Depending on how AD or Laurie handle 5/8 and i don,t think either will be better then this years effort, who can we play? I like Smith, at least he looks like a half/5/8, but he's not in the 30. Our year i think will be better, but to me it could be so much better if we did not have a fabricated 5/8'.
I'm sure the coaches will be working their butts off, but the fact that neither player has a contract for the following year, shows they are not to confident also. This is my biggest concern for 2023.

Fair enough.

It just seems to me it's going the same way as it did when club websites went from individual to pretty much all the same controlled by the NRL.
I want individuals starting threads... Not 'staff'... But I'll.give it a go 👍

Yep I agree.
I cant think of any other situations where this happens other than the fixed area topics in main menu.
The thread is not a spontaneous thing, it happens every week during the season so it's not taking away anything from members.
Anyway see how we go. If at the end of the season it needs tweeking or even scrubbed we'll look at it. So far it's been positive feedback but that can change like sand through the hour glass 👍

do them both- game day thread-let us go wild from the time 1 posts a thread about it,then an hour b4 roll it into 1 - simples

You're not sure about AD or Laurie at 5/8, but someone who's played more games in reserve grade every year than he has in first grade is the answer?

He's a new cup player, if he plays more than 2 first grade games all season we're in massive trouble

Mitchell will only sign if Brooks is here-Brooks wanting to sign with Newcastle the last 2 and for next year.Bateman jetting off and unsigned,but yes we could cruel the kids if we blink at the table with our 1/2s,,good 2 c the club wants better than what has being dished up
 
Looks like we all will have to wait until Christmas until we hear something…I wonder how many pages we will get to from here?! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yes.... It's "discussion"

If for example two mates are talking about player x but not in his dedicated thread and I wanna add my input.... It's like me going into an empty room and saying my piece... If I follow the 'rules' and say my piece in his thread were the discussion isn't happening

It doesn't work nor does constantly merging and moving threads.

Discussion. Is spasmodic and random - not structured

The simple fact is, that many think with the Api and Papi and Klem buys, we will climb from the spoon, to mabe challenge the top 8 But beside the forwards being bad last year , our halves were clunky, and i'm being kind. We have the same halves, or maybe another fabricated half in Laurie, and all three were not setting the world on fire. No, i don,t think Smith would set the world on fire, but in the event that Laurie does not fit the role, and the others get injured, who is the backup ?
