Luke Brooks #167

He was fantastic. So far this season he is performing well. He has had 2 periods of ineptitude all season. They were bad moments but he has been good and today he was one of our best.

He was a key component of 3 out of 4 tries we scored and the other try was the one To'a picked up and ran the length of the field.

This comment is hilarious.

His involvements for 2 of those tries were literally managing to pass it to his outside men on their chest, rather than 0.5m behind them like he has done several times in most games this year. The outside men then did most of the work, i.e. Tupou, AJ, Staines. For the other try you could say he had the 'vision' to throw a long ball out to AD on the right (bit of a stretch since most peoples instinct would be to shift right when a massive linebreak occurs on the left with retracting defense), again most of the work done by Batemen.

Things that most halves in this competition are expected to do. Credit to him for managing to do that, but he was hardly fantastic, the over the top praise is more reflective of the contrast between him putting in a stock standard halves performance compared to the shambles he's been for the first five rounds. Quite easily his worst season in a tigers jersey so far, crazy if you think otherwise.

He is a lock into our halves and a key member of our spine. I'm so glad Sheens is coaching the team rather than the some of the peeps on this forum who can't recognize when someone is playing well.

He wasn't just good though. He was really really really good.

We need to get him a decent halves partner. I'd love us to get Jake Arthur.

What an utterly insane and delusional take but then again, your opinions are about as consistent as Brooks performances. Key component? LOL

Performing well? Neither his performances is or his stats in the oppositions half throughout this season support that and neither does our 0-6 start. Our forwards have been laying the platform for the most part and he continued to do what he has done for most of his career which is fold under pressure and take the wrong option.

He was good for half a game. Still did diddley-squat in the first half.
We didn't win. We haven't won with him for a long time. Like keeping your grandmother on life support because her eye flickers every second month.

Watch and weep. Brooksy is leaving the ladies weeping.

Our forwards haven't even been great. Our middles aren't making busts. IP has been good but not making busts. Bateman has been great.

Brooksy has had a couple of periods of incompetence but no more than any half in the comp. He isn't the problem and on that performance he is part of the solution.

He didn't make any mistakes in the first half and just didn't get the opportunities. When he did though he carved them up.

He is making fools of a bunch of you now and it must hurt.

Okay so you’re either trolling or just a simpleton. That’s the only way to explain why you’re incapable of holding a consistent opinion that isn’t completely nonsensical. That or you have no spine.

Not that great? We’re first in offloads, top five in possession, line engaged, all run metres top 6 in post contact metres, 10th in missed tackles (down from 4th last year)

Bit hard to make busts when your halfback is giving you garbage passes leaving them flat footed or throwing it half a metre behind them. Try having some evidence next time you spout your nonsense.

So you think he’s part of the solution because he had a semi decent half in one game when we have had our worst ever start in our teams history? Put the pom poms down, watch all the games this season and come back down to reality.

Yep. Just watch the game. It's obvious. I said prior to the game that there are people who aren't Tigers fans but instead Brooks haters. They are coming out in full force now because he had a great game.

I think you're missing the point. Half a game means very little in the greater context of a large number of losses in a row.
Perhaps you should analyse your own attachments to ideas. Rewatch some of his other games where he gets it wrong countless times- might take a year or two though. 🙂
I do admire your loyalty to the man though.
