Lee & JP finally lose the confidence of the Board??

Remember guys the type of media News Corp is ... most of the time they plan to stir the pot and create divide which generates more stories & clickbait! Plus they would not like Chammas (SMH) getting one-up on them.

I would not be surprised if Riccio trawled this forum last night and picked up on the debate between Cochise & Magpie Magic and also saw the news about Alex Conti.

You never get specific gripes out of these people. They deal in grudges and generalizations.
They ignore facts and specific issues of concern with the review.
It's the way of the new world.

Oh for peats sake what have we got to loose.
I mean what are you seriously worried about? Relegation?
Since day dot the club has failed to adopt any level of professionalism or to put it a better way has failed to adjust the club to level of professionalism needed to compete.
In the early 2000s clubs ran differently the league although professional was still more amateur in its approach. It is obvious that for at least the past decade a professional football team is not an extension of the community football club. The money might not be the same as some of the sporting leagues in the world but the NRL and the clubs that are continuing to be successful in this competition are striving to be world class in their administration and performance. This is the level we need to get to. Benji and the 05 patrol a couple of vets and some talented rookies / juniors are not going to get us there on their own.

Am I the only one that finds it murky/ deceptive that the person conducting the review's existing connection to the club wasn't made clear and announced at the commencement of the review?

You would have to ask the people who made the decision to hire them to do the job (Wests Ashfield) because they decide who conducts the review.I don't see anything sinister about this at the moment, you need to wait for the results of the review before you can leap to that conclusion and even then only if it is a conclusion you dislike

To add. I’m sure the ultimate goal of the review is identify gaps in our governance affecting our performance both on and off the field. If that leads to a mass restructure of the executive board personnel then so be it, though unlikely it is probably the angle the media are pushing but I’d say more important is for the findings to identify learnings and changes that can be adopted as it is clear that without looking outside the white orange and black stained window pains they are going to continue downhill.

Nice goals.
Now explain to me how a NON independent review by someone with no experience in a football environment interviewing podcasters, fans, journalists and ex players (some of whom finished playing in the 80's) will achieve those lofty goals.
Are you expecting Michael Chammas to "identify gaps in our governance?"

Are you saying a business should conduct a review and not talk to customers and other organisations they deal with as part of the process?

But didn't you and Joel make a point of of media involvement to promote your review you initiated?

Segments of the media with certain gripes against our club seemed to give it airplay.

It makes them a party to this.
That is probably a fair point.

Governance .

Apologies for highlighting that word in your original post.

But see to even question a clubs governance when it is chaired by a CEO of a law firm can be seen by some that proper process was not followed which is very problematic for a practitioner of the law who happens to be a passionate supporter and sponsor..

I have nothing but faith in Lee regards procedural practice,

Trouble is survivorship bias when seemingly only people with gripes are interviewed.

It's not representative of the whole disparate fan base or sponsors and stakeholders.

And don't even go there regarding the media.

As I said, I’m sure the ultimate goal of it is that. How it is conducted is yet to be seen, though the intentions of the petition were to have an EXTERNAL review I have concerns though that the major shareholder has initiated this and has as you mentioned engaged a foundation member and some one from the NRL to conduct it. I hoped they did reach out to some external and international sporting organisations to get a bit of a baseline but afterall the idea is to look within the organisation and see what or who is lacking.

It is an absolute BS article. Riccio is quickly rising the ranks to join Hooper amongst the worst journos in NRL.

As @cochise said, reviews are good practice and everyone should let it play out for the betterment of the club.

I'm sure Benji wants what is best for the club's long-term future. Riccio's theme in this story is that we should continue with the status quo at boardroom & admin level and enjoy another decade of failure. What a goose!

Where is the evidence the review is for the betterment for thr club?

Lots to loose.

Maybe it stifles Benji & Co

Maybe we go worse next year than we otherwise would have.

Maybe no more Leichhardt oval games

Maybe no more Cambo games

Maybe no more HB group

Maybe Benny

Maybe Perth

Maybe it sets in motion the club unravelling.
