Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Klemmer and ICE aren’t on “huge” contracts.

AFB and Luai are both free to negotiate. (Luai end of contract, AFB compassionate grounds) why do we need to provide a swap ?

We are well under salary cap, why can’t we keep Klemmer and ICE as well as sign AFB and Luai?

Agree. No need to rush which disadvantages us.

The latest news on recruitment was that pascoe took the lead on negotiations which could be interpreted as fulton is taking the lead.

The chips will fall when the review finally finishes. However, one thing for sure, the impact of the review was not well thought out and depending which way it goes could have a real negative impact for recruitment.

I'll just bookmark it here.
Yeah club is going great, we plan so well that our recruitment manager and our coach don't like each other so one is bagging the other every chance he gets.

He needs to pull his head in, if he can't do that then he needs to go along with those that appointed him.

Why would Benj be the draw?
1. One of the most known and respected players in the game.

2. Some see Benji as the greatest Wests Tigers player in history now taking the role of coach to guide the next lot.

3. Luai admitted to being a Benji fan growing up and now gets the chance to work alongside him on a permanent basis. I’m sure the money that’s being offered is a reason as well if he does come, but would have we gotten this far in trying to sign him if Sheens, Madge or anyone else was the coach right now? I say it’s unlikely.

Even with all that, our club is still run like a circus. There are other factors besides just Benji.

Yes but like I said, if he wasn’t there I don’t think Luai would have even considered us. Chances are he already would’ve re-signed weeks ago.

None of that is a grown up reason to sign a contract.
Sure, Benji was a respected player....probably our favourite son in this club. Sure Luai loved him as a player.
BUT as a coach, there is zero reason to sign here due to benji at this moment in time. If we are relying on his profile as a player to bring guys here, we are in trouble.

Great planning.

Thoughts on a Tupou x Galvin centre pairing?
Could be a realistic move come 2025, with Tupou making the move as of next year.
I wanted Tupou tried in the centres this year...he isnt great under a highball but is a dangerous runner with ball in hand. If his defence is solid enough, he may make it there.
Galvin, ive not seen nearly enough of to have an opinion.

Pissed off about that one. Not just for the
wallabies but for us too. I was talking him
up on here ages ago. Local Burwood boy,
went to St Pats Strathfield, played for the
Burwood Concord Wolves. It sucks the
chooks got him. Although it doesn't
surprise me one bit haha. They share the
same facilities at Moore Park with the Tahs
too. Politis would have been all over it...
shame. Would have loved him on the wing
at our club, heard there's a clause to go back
to rugby for the 2027 world cup, the deal
at the roosters is for 2025-2026 seasons
And we'd have a top-notch goal-kicking 5/8 (Sorry Brandon) if some genius hadn't decided Tane Edmed was a dummy half in the Balmain Juniors.
