Yeah but that's something none of us want.... We want a capable strong consistent first grade three quarter.
Reggie's level outside backs would be a dime a dozen and plenty to choose from

I got confused as I originally thought he was going over in 24. Now I know it’s 25 but Herbie and co will still be there.

It's scary to think how Woolf as tongan coach can speak with a stack of up n coming talent.
Tongan/Samoan internationals are a great pool at club level.

Man I wish Woolf was coach for 2023. Heck I wish anyone else was coach in 2023.

Look, Reggie's on the wing if Waqa shows the right attitude may be a goer.

If were talking outside the cap, do it. Inside cap space. NO WAY. We have signed way too many people.

Olam -> Blore needs to be done. I am even thinking that Sullivan or Luai may have to play center were that short on backs. I am 100% behind Naden to fire but that guy breaks easily and plays rough as we want him to play, he won't be playing all season.

Im with you Tucs. Its about time we start teach the dipsh#ts that it is an honour to play for the Tigers. He took all the development the Tigs offered & never paid back. I would have him clean the toilets after the KEO cup games next year. Teach him some skills he will need when the when he wont make the squad with the dolphins.

Nothing shonky like Taupau - Matterson - Aloiai etc who all broke their contracts to move to greener pastures!

How about we just treat him on merit while contracted to the Tigers like any decent professional organisation would???

To me he isn’t the best option because he requires a tonne of work and it’ll all be for nought as he is leaving next year. I highly doubt he’ll perform well enough this year to cause us problems if we don’t select him.
I don’t know the young blokes well enough to supply names but surely there’s a project player available that can take his place. Until then, we have experienced guys on roster that I’d put ahead of him.

Navren Willet on one wing and the big NZ rugby player on the other ,, cannot possibly do worse than The Noff has done for the last couple of years

In all seriousness, if AJ is in the centres we are in a little trouble. Good bench backup. Will spend plenty of time in Cup.

Okay in that lineup of:

Bula
Tupou
Toa
Staines
Naden

Yes Bula went very well for a rookie fullback. BUT were talking Fullback.
Smith and Cronk said of Slater "you have no idea how much defensive work he does". What we have is Bula taking a position which he can see how the entire team's defensive lineup looks like. He did not have good mentorship in this position and the only person he could learn off was Daine Laurie. Laurie too did not get good coaching or mentorship here either.

Bula did fantastic for his rookie year. We should be under no illusions, he is covering playing deficiencies with talent. Bula will need to build technique and this is going to hurt our team as he develops (as Teddy, as Slater or any other Fullback has had to do). Hopefully with good coaching and mentorship, Bula will develop into the Gun fullback we know is in him.
