Just sad that the ones we don't need to leave are the ones leaving. Simpkins is 22 years old, great junior talent that hasn't been developed properly and now we lose him. TDS has all the talent in the world I hope he gets a chance to be developed not just play and then he gets shot down because as a club we don't develop players. The players that have left, most are doing well at the clubs they are at., not a great sign. Lets hope things change with Benji.

the pandemic and Madge's inability to develop players really hurt Jake in his crucial development years. I genuinely do think though that he has turned a corner and hope he begins to prove that at NRL level, even away from Wests Tigers. best of luck mate.

I don't mind Simpkin. He could become a useful 14 moving forward. He could do some ball playing in the middle when Api comes back on. Might be able to keep him for dirt cheap past his current contract.

I’d say at 22 he has higher ambitions for his playing career. Good luck to him at Manly.

Well said Reedie, couldn’t agree more here.

He’s turned the corner in terms of something we should all be ready to wait for in our juniors: physical and mental maturity.

Madge was (IMO) the right kind of coach for a well-balanced roster and one that prioritised experienced hard nosed backup in the engine room - you could never say we’ve had that in Jake’s time. He’ll go from strength to strength!
