Stefano Utoikamanu #241

Youve got rocks in your head if you think Richo hasnt already told him to leave. Richo is big on loyalty. Stef wanting to question a way over offer by the club shows zero loyalty to your current boss. Stef is already gone. And absolutely no loss at all. Drop off a complete waste of space taking up a jersey and having that money to spend elsewhere, win/win yet again for Richo.
Who does he spend he spend the money on? We can’t keep our own juniors let alone attract anyone. Oh thats right we can sign these mid range paid players. You are one of these yappy blokes who throws out rubbish talk but can’t actually give a solution.

I think Stef is a huge talent but needs to mature in that guy who will lead the team forward especially in adversity. Seems to me he doesn’t either know when to recognise this or how to do it. I think most of the issue is in his head but hopefully comes with maturity. I also believe a prop mentor may help him (e.g.Lazurus, Webke). He has the physical attributes, he just needs the focus and belief

We were 0-0 after 15 mins weren’t we? then Manu went all “who’s your daddy” on our left edge.

Not sure a front rower was going to pull us back into the game at that point.

We were losing the battle in the middle prior to that . Our post contact metres were horrendous . Pole and tbh Lualiii were the only ones finding thier front and generating ruck speed .
Stef did what he always does , bumps off a smaller player to go no where , and have everyone go “oooooo ahhhhh “ but the ball stays with him and he’s standing exactly where he was when he sent the back / spine player flying .
I’m completely over him and his bullshit . You watch him , then watch yeo today , dragging blokes for 20m after initial contact , constantly causing the defensive line to be retreating .
Good luck to St George and Canberra . I’d rather take de bellin off St George for 400k

Yeo? Penrith scored the same amount of points as us.

In a game where we had no possession for long periods Stef had 34 tackles and 1 miss. Naden and AD were catching butterflies out there.

Surely our real problems can’t be that hard to see.
Like I've said all along; problems exist across the squad & the club as a whole. I know you're a supporter of the pack, but they never dominate. At best, they've held their own in the wins we've had. Our backs are generally sub NRL standard but are often exposed to quick shifts, etc, as opposition packs collapse our middle & draw our line in. Similarly, our forwards are hitting it up from poor field position due to our back 3 being ineffective in returning deep kicks.

We have mostly a young pack and no help for him in the front row

Our older forwards are hopeless

He would excel in a better side

Probably had enough and who could blame him
I blame him. He's no longer a rookie. What help is he providing for those younger forwards you mentioned?
I've no doubt he'd look better in a good side but would be exposed when things get hard.

The same accepting mediocrity fans that enabled Brooks to play like shit for a decade and yet were happy week after week to walk away with swollen lips and skinned up knees. Trying too hard mate, Stef aint gonna see ya.

I didnt realise it was a forums member position to give solutions as well as opinions, my bad. Whats your solution on winning every game for the rest of the year? Go

Our young side got blown away by probably the best roster in the comp. Our edges were totally carved up. The momentum the Roosters had lasted most of the game. Just saying a prop wasn’t going to arrest the damage today.

Our forwards as a unit were soundly beaten.

Singling out our better players for criticism seems counter productive to me.

I don’t see why you never apportion blame to this guy. Ever.
He doesn’t provide a platform. Doesn’t intimidate, doesn’t make strong meters and then keep play rolling with a fast play the ball. Doesn’t inspire.
Of course it’s not his fault in isolation, but he is the one talking shit about the club publicly and looking to get out. That brings more scrutiny.

I agree, but by what measure was Stef one of our better players?
If you want elite money, you should provide superior performance on a consistent basis. If Stef is so much better than the rest of our pack, should you use them as the yardstick to measure his performance?

Singling out players that play like shit and think they are elite and want top tier cash should be called out every damn time.

Stef is shit, will always be shit even when he goes and plays for the Roosters or Melbourne where he can still play like shit but it doesnt matter as they still win and he will get all the credit for being a superstar.
