Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Storm - a team with a strong winning culture …where players try their best every game and want to remain a part of it as long as they can …where lack of discipline actually has consequences…pretty hard to imagine what that must be like
Not forgetting they ensure each position has to have a certain body shape and skill set.
They apply common sense to their recruitment and retention approach.
We have about 10 out of our 17 each week that would easily fit the Storm criteria’s and walk into their system, but we also always carry around 7 players that smart clubs such as the Storm would not touch.
Very hard carrying almost half a team each week.

Over paid players with little competition for positions and a loser mentality. Maguire tried to implement change and by all reports didn't have the support of the senior players apart from Hastings. Now they are all gone and preaching about the standards at other clubs that they have had to adjust to and or in Nofas case dropped off all together. If they had given him the chance to work with Api we might be a step closer.
We realise one of those players was Benji.

Benji commented several times that Madge had a hard pre-season. Benji hated it.

Benji is clearly trying to do something different then "bash more", but it isn't working.

No, Benji said many times he loved the hard pre season by Madge and found it helped him with his niggles rather then cause an aging player issues.

Benji does not have the right balance of experienced people around, so is at fault for that??
Past Administration or current administration or is it both??

Until you change the culture and put in place pacific plans of development then nothing changes.

experienced people … you just mean the coaches ? The coach has gotta pick his own assistants … although it does look like he has gone too light on experience …

Richo went through the back office staff ..got rid of Fulton as we know …and a few others and put in the guy from the Central Coast Mariners …

After watching NSW Cup just now, I could write an essay but I couldn't be bothered.

In both NRL & Cup, we are playing dumb, simple skills go out the window, we are regularly stripped for numbers on one or both edges, our heads drop with few leaders, we go for Hollywood plays in both attack & defence, we've lost the playing for eachother mentality, we are weak in contact and decisions continually go against us.

It is so apparent our youngsters (aged 18-21) are not getting the development they need in all aspects of the game. Our coaching & player development systems need to be fixed asap before we lose a generation of talent, many of whom at the moment are losing confidence & morale.

Yes we can go on about players lacking effort, having low IQ, making stupid mistakes, but atm we are not giving them every chance to succeed with our coaching & development systems.

I don't usually rant but today's effort in NSW Cup was laughable and it shouldn't be.

100% correct. You need a raw product to start with. The Lauilli's, Feledy's, Kataugas will never be worth the effort.

Top 10 stupidest statements of all time

Idk much about Kataouga but the Laulilii bros and Feledy have clear potential and are easily worth the time

I know he had 2 very bad errors but Luke’s potential was on display yesterday and there is clearly a player there

While both are on the back end of their career I could see value in grabbing sivo or ravalwa. I think both their current clubs would fork out some coin and they could hold a spot for a year or two.
Shuffling the deck chairs with our outside backs now is clearly not the solution.

Bellamy has only ever had to drip feed juniors into his first grade machine. Wouldn’t know what to do with our pathetic roster.

Wouldn't ever have had to worry about it....

Signs on Character - Barely any of our last 150 odd Players have had any....
Plenty of blokes in their squad atm that have debuted there.

His ability is identify athletes with the right character would have to be his greatest trait, even if he has delegated the responsibility to others at times. Generally those players then have the best possible chance of success when they get placed strategically in a strong first grade team.
