FUTURE’S BRIGHT AT THE TIGERS DESPITE CURRENT WOES

Look at how they phrased the article though. — 'believed
to be earning more'. Instead of checking players pockets
they should look at the salary cap scams going on
What’s even more surprising is there are only 4 Panthers players on that list 2 of which are moving on at the end of the year.
So all in all despite all the people on that list Critchton would have be the 5th highest paid player on the Panthers roster.
Goes to show they really don’t over pay anyone.

I don't have players wages on a spreadsheet,
And I have zero connections to any agents.
It's fine to speculate I suppose, carry on...

Because he’s about the fifth bloke you need to worry about at Manly. The benefit of a good team.
Agree. Possibly one of our biggest problems is we've carried too many average players that have potential but haven't had the class around them to let the average players shine. Hopefully Luai fixes that but we still need some pigs and one other better back.

Potential has been a huge killer aswell as non professional players in senior positions.
Players that have a good game every now and then to keep them in the team but are unable to consistently hold form

That’s what you get when your previous administration is signing other clubs castaways exclusively for years on end.

To be fair- they also knew they had a camera on them.
Which you would have thought would have been enough incentive to actually look like they were taking in some of the coaches words of wisdom.

Even if they thought the coach was full of shit you would think that with cameras rolling they would try and appear to actually be interested in what he was saying even if it was just out of common courtesy, to show they had some sort of respect for the man, or if for no other reason, to look like professional athletes that were interested in improving themselves.

How disrespectful and what a bunch of losers, totally embarrassing.

Papali wasn’t a castaway and he has admitted to dropping off. I actually think he’s played better since that admission.
If I had to guess why Bellamy gets the best out of nobody’s is the push to be professional in character and actions

Yes, plus there are ramifications for dropping form. The senior blokes at the club wont stand for it just as much as the coaching staff.
Here, they're told to try harder next week.

This is true. And one of the reasons Richo's "greater depth through all squads" comment is really important.

For all the doom & gloom, there are genuine short term reasons why we play guys that are not ready, or stick with underperforming guys. The current squad balance is out, and WILL BE until the juniors the club is investing in are ready (physically & mentally) to push for 1st grade selection instead of having it handed to them.

Not telling you anything you don't already know- but patience is required. The Luke Lualili'i/Jordan Miller/ Johannssen/ Latu Fainu/Galvin type selections in 1st grade are almost through necessity right now. Not dropping underperforming guys is because these young players ARE the replacement options. Until the squad is better balanced through experience, we will likely have this issue.

I don't blame Richo, Benji, Sheens etc for the current roster. It was a year & a bit ago the club put the "development club" line out there & they are trying to hold true to that. It can, and SHOULD, work.

This off season & next season is weeding out the guys that won't make the cut, blooding more up & coming players, and including new faces that increase squad depth. We are likely entering the more important year of squad development- figuring out which of young players isn't what they hoped they would be, and moving them on.

Ah the future!

We are being fed the same line for years now. Past was crap, present is difficult, future will be great.

Those who have been following this club for 20+ years and still have hope.. I salute your optimism!

I’m not going to believe they will improve ( ie win more games and get off the bottom ) until I see it .. and I continue to have serious doubts about the team improving next season even with Luai … but if you don’t have optimism that things COULD improve …then what’s the point of continuing to follow the team?

That is true.. I'm a sucker for punishment I guess. I am supporting/ following them pretty much knowing that nothing is going to come out of it. You will see glimpses of performances here and there but anything better than a bottom 4 finish for the next few years would surprise me.

But as I said, those who still have hope, I do salute you! (not being sarcastic)

Agree.. to make a great wine, you need great vines...
Unfortunately our current coach/admin have inherited a lot of dead wood, and until they rip them out and put better ones in we aren't going to produce anything great....

What’s the Melbourne preseason initiation? Harry warning the pillow to get ready. We need a ‘heart’ initiation start of season too - maybe even a pulse test to start. Not just the sand hills. How was Galvin, a teen, our fittest player before kick off? It is a joke. Need some hard heads across the board, players and coaching staff. No holidays for anyone!

The one thing that we won't need is great fertilizer because the greatest fertilizer ever known to mankind has been gushing out of the club since inception
