I think most of it comes down to cap management vs club needs. Melbourne and Roosters get plenty of yards out of their back 3 and forwards as do Roosters. Is adding a guy like To'o on the money he is after going to work for them?Your guess is wrong. He clarified many times. Apparently the Storm and Roosters would have no interest in To’o.
So yes Storm would apparently prefer Dean Ieremia
Same argument goes for Haas or any other high salary player for their position.
As it stands, even we need to rebalance our cap to fit him in (assuming rumours are even close to true).
I'd be interested in how the club views salary cap management. Do they split it up with forwards and backs? By position? Or by spine? For arguments sake, a winger is not worth 650k or 700k, however when you get an anomaly like To'o, does your cap management strategy allow for these unique players in low paid positions?
