What do you mean AHX? 'Haven't you been watching Sam Konstas's take apart the world's best fast bowler during the past week!
Thats what im talking about. Best batter I've seen for a long while. Started watching cricket again. He reminds me of Galvin. A free spirit. Make your own rules. Evolution over revolution. Im sorry you missed my point. But we are on the same page. He's reminds me of a cat playing with a mouse that can't escape. The last wicket Bumrah took today on the last ball of the day - he didn't laugh or condescend Kawasha - apologies for spelling - but Konstas. Thats how you know Konstas is the next Micheal Jordan of Cricket and Lachlan Galvin in the NRL. Does that make any sense?

Got it. Not a truer word spoken. That's why people will line up to watch star players like Konstas and Glen Maxwell. It's because they have the talent as well as the balls to back themselves in situations where they could well be excused for 'playing safe' to ensure their position in the team next game.

Glenn Maxwell. Why isn't he playing. Not a truer word spoken.

His 200* knock against Afghanistan is up there with the best ever. Instrumental for a World Cup trophy in context. Legend.

5 day Tests are a different animal. Maxwell backed himself for 7 tests @ 26.

If tests go to 4 days I’ll change my tune regarding konstas.

Staines is a genuine NRL winger and really had a go against Knights. He ran the ball back hard, was safe in the air.
I really like Staines. I reckon he was starved of ball when he was on the wing, making most of his metres on kick returns. He's quick & he's a solid defender, however I think he'll struggle to secure a first grade spot in the current squad unfortunately.

Only 'reservation' in signing younger talents is that we will have a few young players wanting to move into 1st grade consideration in a year or two- Luke Lualili'i, Willett, Makasini etc. It's a balance at the moment- you don't want to sign guys that put roadblocks in front of the ones you want to develop.
Especially with the expansion in the NRL in coming years. It will be a lot harder for us to retain the cream of our juniors.

Turuva's defence worries me on the right. He is a great left winger, when he's not on the left he's not the same player. Olam is exclusively a left centre. And Douehi should be shot into the sun before putting him at centre again. His defence is awful
Agree, Douehi is a liability, too scared to tackle first man in or man on man.

Here’s where I think so many Tigers fans get it wrong. Not totally wrong but party wrong.

Next time you watch the Tigers pause the game on the 3rd or the 4th when the opposition is on attack. Count our defenders on each side and count their attackers.

I feel that you will see that perhaps half our centre issues and half our winger jamming issues literally come from our defensive line getting stripped for players on one side.

I have opinions on why it happens but it’s not the point I wannnna make. Ask your side why centres looks so bad defensively when they put on our jersey.
The way the "Cronulla style" attack puts our defenders on the backfoot and leaves them a player short out wide.
Benji should be pumping videos of that attacking style (as more clubs adopt it) to develop an effective counter to it.

This is such a good signing. I'd say this will be the last signing in the backs - Richo won't want to close off pathways for Luke, Large and Makasini

Now to focus on the forwards!
Agree totally. No more signings of backs until:
A) We secure at least another decent 2nd rower/prop.
B) We release one or two of our excess backs......Douehi for starters!

Your username used to always give me the shits because the tigers had no speed 2 burn. Now we do buddy. I would be interested in knowing who the fastest players are at the club.
Staines by half a second after the next.
Bloody shame he didn't get much decent ball in the open in 2024 but sure found the try line when he did.
