Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Thought of this today so let’s see if it rings true.

Within the last few weeks there was a rumour of a big name Queensland player who was disgruntled at their team being signed by the Tigers for next year.
Last week another rumour that a team at the bottom of the ladder was chasing Tino.
The coach at the Dolphins is about to get the flick.
And Tino has a get out clause after every year of his contract.
Will Tino be a Tiger next year?
Tino plays for Titans
No he won’t come to us

Us and quite a few other clubs are searching for these same types of players, but they are very scarce at the moment.

Papali’ takes care of the first on the list … why the hell would the Knights be beating us to the punch?
I guess the move from Canberra to Newcastle is easier than Canberra to Sydney. Can’t think of any other explanation. I would have thought the Chooks or maybe Manly would have been in the mix, and of course Gus is interested in anyone with boots on

seems like Benji & Richo aren’t interested in the older experienced demographic, i look at their recruitment they want young, fast players

The Raiders have signed Pasami Saulo from the Raiders and Lachlan Crouch from the Sharks. Both are props and both local products from the Hunter region.

Matumua and Hunt...

Where the hell is our Biggest loser trainer, someone who pushes their physical fitness to the hilt and helps them get game ready.

We shouldn't be having this problem of players getting fat if our training is intense enough.
Never forget in 2010 and 2011 we had Steve Folkes, he deadset flogged the squad. No coincidence they were 2 of our 3 sucessfull seasons.

I've always liked Saulo.
I see some Tapine in him.
Except he never gets much of a chance.

He's a low cost recruit for Newcastle which they'll need with all their cap going into spine players.

Think this will be his chance to shine.
Newcastle has produces some good forwards over the years, seem to go better when they leave though.

Papali’i could effectively replace Royce Hunt if we could somehow get him off our books, but isn’t it rumoured that Papali’i is ideally looking to return to Brisbane ?
I’m assuming he might end up with the Dolphins.

I'd like us to take a look at Cooper Bai at the Titans as an option at 13.

192cm and 93kg, he's got both the size and skill to become a very good player. QLD U19s rep and a knack of finding the line, he's got three tries in just two games in QLD Cup already with a 97% tackle efficiency and averaging 150 metres from the pine.

off contract as far as I'm aware and stuck behind a plethora of middles at the Titans.

give him a ring Richo.

I was talking with a workmate who is a long time Bulldogs member, never misses a home game and is now a corporate member along with his family and friends.
He is disgusted they would bring Galvin in mid season and disrupt their team when it was not required.
Not that it’s a secret, but he tells me nearly every Bulldogs supporter he speaks with feels exactly the same.

They were fine until the first lost all beating there chest they had him and have now gone sour why bring him in killing the season

He has big wraps.
Big future ahead you'd think.

Would be an amazing signing.
Yes please.

Des Hasler’s on the brink of losing his job.

The Titans are one loss away from activating a clause to dismiss Hasler from his job as coach of the Titans.

The report also states a player revolt over matters such as team selection.

It would just our luck he gets sacked this weekend and they have a new coach they want to impress against their next opponents which is us at Leichhardt.

Keep Des for another week of upheaval and lets get the Warriors and Titans

This is it. We will be keeping $$$ up our sleeve for Taylan May if he shows what we believe he can. I'd imagine he will go on a $400-$450k contract for next season if that's the case.

So then with our remaining cap we won't be able to afford a Josh Papali'i or anyone else over $500k unless 1 of 3 things happen -

1 we get Royce off our cap somehow,
2 Souths agree to pay at least 50% of Bud's contract or,
3 we can frontload a few hundred K this season.

Realistically we be looking at a 2 x $400-$500k players (1 being Taylan) and then a host on close to minimum deals.

My reasoning is in the Salary Cap thread.

If he is considering a move to Sydney, it will involve considerable disruption in his life especially if he has a partner/family. For this reason, I think if he would have already made the decision either way. I think it is a very long shot he would come to WTs.

Why would you want him? Every contract exit ends up in court.
