Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Thank you @tigahhh for earlier translation of Bula's response. Can anyone translate Terrell's response?
Bala is an Indigenous word originating from Torres Strait Islander Languages meaning “brother”. From what I know it’s basically used to denote someone is Indigenous but also a brother (friend/mate) such as in this context.
This is similar to the Awabakal term “Koori” frequently used by South-East Australian Indigenous people for “person/Indigenous person”.

Reamy is just nickname for Jahream

Yesir is a typo of yessir. I don’t really know how to define it other than it’s similar to saying things like “let’s go”, “come on”.

I don’t think we get Tino, maybe not even chase him…but it may open up a door for a player to leave a club that may be interested in Tino. Maybe something will fall from the tree?
Zero chance we get Tino. Good chance he goes to the Storm. I thought for a while he’d go to the Bears, but nah. I don’t see the Bears making a big dent in the player market. The Dolphins didn’t when they came in and they had Bennett. Don’t know if many marquee players will be that keen on moving to the other side of the country. And even fewer will be interested in moving to PNG when they come in.

Is he the manager of our young second rower coming through Godinet.
Yes. But I heard the godinet family are very happy with the club , and the way it’s looking after Phoenix. Same with the Makasini clan .
The Galvin family had moved their son from club to club , at all levels , always searching for the best opportunity . In hindsight , it was inevitable that would happen in the nrl . But it’s easy to Monday morning quarterback.

For me , from the outside looking in , his manager negotiates multi year contracts with opt outs , which puts enormous pressure on the club to make short sighted decisions. It’s a very LeBron James negotiation style. Only he’s not LeBron , and this isn’t the nba , where 1 guy and bunch of middling players can get you far.
If your best player is a middle forward on the most money , you’re not inning anything . Nor are you by signing up 4 fullbacks and shoe horning them into other positions .

The fact the parramatta eels are valued more than the wests tigers as an asset , is ridiculous. The club needs to be professional in every aspect , and that includes not giving token top 30 to wives who unfortunately aren’t up to the grade .
In my opinion give her a run with the Harvey Norma girls , stand out at that level , and she will have her top 30 contract. Of which she would have earned ,and full credit to her.
It’s the right message to her , the other girls , the wider club , and ultimately the fans .
Well they are 3rd in NRL and over the Storm to be fair

Brand value doesn’t mean much in terms of on-field performance

Geez ..$1.5m for Tino … I like him but that would be crazy money for him…

Unfortunately I think the favourite to get Tino will be Perth … no one getting squeezed out from there…
Perth desperate for a marquee signing now theyve lost Munster.
Dont forget Tinos link with Mal at Titans..plus hes walked away from Bellamy once
Plus no-one will outbid them
Short odds

Which is my point . It’s diabolical that with all the brand recognition , clicks , exposure and simply fan volume , that a club like the eels would be that much more valuable .

Do you have resting [This word has been automatically removed] face ? I’ve been known to have it at times … I’m really mindful of it now . Especially if I’m genuinely pissed about something.
No, I'm not working now that usually removes the scowl from your face, most of the time I'm a relaxed approachable dude, unless I haven't been sleeping well.

NAS and Kami gone + Papenhuyzen effectively out the door. that's a fair stack of cash. their centres aren't up to scratch tho I spose.
Yeh, centres are skinny, they'll have to replace a Sua as deputy when he moves up. Anderson will need to be replaced, as will another backup/bench prop for Tui. Then there's the funds tied up in Munster and Hughes too.

I'm not saying they can't, but to your point, the 3/4 line needs a bit of work still too. Ditto for backups to Warbrick and Coates.

Meh, it'll play out I guess.

Just hate the rich getting richer.
