HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Hmmmm ... looks like we Wests Tigers supporters were right to be worried all along. View attachment 31260
Seems they have very short memories, the only time in more than a decade when Ashfield hasn’t had the board of WT’s stacked is back when the NRL stepped in (even then, I’m pretty sure they were stacked) and the last 18 months…

In all that time,
we’ve gone from disaster to disaster…
And worked our way to the bottom of the comp.

Good job - sandwiches and Magpie mercy for everyone.

Suzie, you seem to love hanging about in the Western Suburbs camp.
You do realize there are extremists on every side of an argument.
Cherry picking incendiary stuff like this and presenting it as typical, is little more than dog whistling and IMHO not worthy of an admin.

But I'm sure you'll get the desired result
Queue ... outrage !!!
Funny how you and old mate Jim seem to have a problem with my being a moderator on this forum and expressing any opinion about my team, the Wests Tigers, and either of the 2 foundation clubs. Funnily enough, when you are interested in something on social media, the algorithm makes sure you see more of it - as someone so kindly tried to school me about in another thread. So, because I follow Wests Tigers, and therefore have to know about WSM and BT stuff as it affects the team I follow, Western Suburbs stuff comes up on my newsfeed.

The only people looking for outrage are you and your entourage.

Oh, and it's "cue"

Only losing one home game to magic round wouldn't that be 7/4, I could live with that.
RHS the demographic of the Balmain rugby league district is rapidly changing.
You would know that as well as anyone being a former resident who got out.
It would be crazy to stop playing a decent amount of home games at Leichhardt Oval now or anytime in the next 5-10 years, but in 10 years time it’s likely all that will be left living in this area will be people too busy protesting for the Greens and visiting art galleries.
Surely you and everybody else who is a past or current resident acknowledges it will most likely be a region that does not have much interest in rugby league in 10 years time.
Maybe Richo being from Qld has no idea how fast the demographic is changing, but it is naive to lock in a deal with Leichhardt Oval for 15 years based on the reasons mentioned above.

We could win the next 3 premierships and you and a few others would still be hung up on who owns or controls the club.
Meanwhile the fans of every other NRL club could not care less who owns or controls the club they support or who is on the board.
You wouldn't know who was on the board at other clubs. It a non issue except for our muppets that won't be happy until it's all gone and they are all watching wests playing in reserve grade. But they will feel great cause they won't be called the tigers any more.

There is one person who is known to have mentioned the Magpies returning at NRL level.
He would now be well aware that won’t be happening and he has been removed from any involvement in Wests Tigers decision making.
The argument that everyone involved with the Magpies or Wests Ashfield want Wests Magpies returned to the NRL is getting very old and boring.

It is very old and boring but still very true today

There will always be a cult following at LO and it's doubtful that will change in the next 15 years if it does its good business sense to change the % played there.

How long has it been there and it still sells out, the trend has shown no sign of slowing down anytime soon.

No one in the inner west will follow rugby league in 10 years?

And you said I should change my name to nostradamus...that's a pretty big call you've just made there.

Question 1:
Who was the one man who sacked all 4 independent directors? It wasn't one man...

Question 2:

Did the HBG board vote and pass the motion to sack the directors? Yes

As to whether these peolple speak for the organisation, let's look at the definition of their job title:

- The CEO is the highest ranking executive employee of the group and his role is to execute the strategy set by the board. His comments and actions speak for the entire organisation, that is literally what he is there to do..

- The directors role is to represent its members.. Their entire role to speak on behalf of the members...

Question 3:
So are you suggesting that the HBG CEO and board do not represent its members?

There is no way you can answer this post directly... Doing so means you will have to admit there is an issue with the HBG leadership and board. Can you bring yourself to do that?
@Vicious conveniently missed this one. Looking forward to your response to the questions posed.

Have you lived or still live in the inner west/ Balmain rugby league district ?
I have and still have many family and friends in the area, it’s not what it once was.

If I was running HBG, I would want the most experienced & skilled WT board possible to make decisions on the future for the club whilst clear on delivering HBG positive outcomes (financial, community, membership etc).

If they were adament on having a team represent the Wests Magpies in the NSW Cup, I'd make it work including for the Wests Tigers brand to have a presence at Lidcombe home games (marquee, merchandise, kid's activations etc). My preference would be to have the NSW Cup team as Wests Tigers but if it has to be Magpies, so be it.

I do think the legacy of Wests Magpies can still be highlighted to an even more powerful effect than having a team in NSW Cup. The club could host a heritage round each year at Campbelltown where the team plays in a special Magpies heritage jersey, there is an acknowledgment of old boys on-field pre-game & a big function for old boys to attend at the game. Roar Store could sell this heritage round jersey each year.

Unfortunately I'm a logical thinker and pride & personal agendas seem to be sacrificing logic in HBG decision making.
BWG, with all respect mate, stop talking sense. It's black and white til we die, Magpies or we cry. Tigers are liars, Balmain are lame, Daddy Denny has the best mane.

Yeah. Actually I have. I had loads of mates in the inner city who are mad fans. Half the crowd that goes to Leichhardt lives around the area.

btw it's never been Leichhardt that's struggled with crowds. Going from strength to strength. I suggest you reassess your theory.

You've got no idea.
