2012-2013 Football (Sokkah) Thread

QPR have a talented squad and I think they'll get it together, they did take points off Chelsea, and apart from a poor 5 minute stretch looked pretty good against Spurs. I'll say they'll finish around 14th-16th I think. If they do go down there'd be a pretty decent fire sale going on there.

Southampton aren't playing poorly at all, but they still aren't winning games, which is not good, I hope when they came up they bought a reverse ticket, they'll need it. They pushed both Manchester clubs, but their defence is dreadful.

was stoked to beat the Toffees last week . With the takeover and investment maybe will be back in the Premier League after all these years . M.O.T

Reading would be my other question mark , but they got off to a shocking start in the Championship last year and won I think 7-8 on the trot and ran over the top of everyone , so I wouldn't rule them out either

Probably a good question to ask ,"Who do you think will go back down to the Championship" ??

I agree on Reading, they seem a little more competent than the Saints, I think Wigan and Southampton will both go down, can't decide my 3rd drop but I have it being one of Norwich or Reading. I guess we'll know a bit more in a month or so.

Rather uninspiring kick off to the A-League season tonight. An uneventful 2-1 win to the Heart over the Tards. Will be heading out to Allianz next week to watch ADP score a few goals and watch Heskey pepper the back three rows of the Cove.

Bad night for Happy's Hammers lost 3-1 to Arsenal , but more concerningly lost Vaz Te to a bad shoulder injury by the looks of it

Hammers blew it , missed some great chances at 1-1 and Arsenal scored twice in last 13 minutes :brick:

You might have to add West Ham to the list MM Vaz Te is out for three months with a dislocated shoulder

We will need to find another creative player to take his place

Interesting stat from the Bundesliga

Every time a team has won the first 7 games of the season, Dortmund have won the BL. 😱pen_mouth:

I was at Sydney's game against Newcastle,

Del Piero was playing so deep he may as well have been playing centre-half 😕

Also Heskey is GIANT MAN.

Was a pretty ordinary game, but the atmosphere was excellent.

Sydney looked great in the final 25 when they hoisted McFlynn and put in Reid, looked like they had shape and distributed the ball from the back a hell of a lot better. A few good chances went begging. Emmo has to start at RM or RW, he is wasted at the back.

Big weekend in the premier league, United with a controversial winner against a 9 man Chelsea along with a racism row involving the ref of all people. An equally controversial Merseyside derby with Suarez winding up Moyes and denied a later winner which should have been given. Both games despite the controversy were crackers in my opinion.

Chelsea fans had every right to feel rorted by the decision to march Torres. It was a dive, but we see far worse than that on a weekly basis and I found it bizarre that Torres was yellowed and subsequently marched for simulation when Osman was carded for not even touching that fellow from Liverpool.

Toffees are looking good this season MM, could well finish up 5th or 6th if they stay fit.

It's definitely going to be a three horse race this year between Man U, City & Chelsea though. Can't see any other team coming close.

I thought Suarez was lucky to still be on the field to *score* a winner. Lucky not to get a yellow for taking out Mirallas in the first half, so his tackle on Distin would've been his second. Then again, his tackle on Distin probably should've been a straight red. The game itself was full of dud calls though, Liverpool goal coming off a free kick that shouldn't have been awarded, Everton scoring off a throw in that should have been Liverpool's.

I tend to think that City/United/Chelsea will fight it out for first, while Arsenal/Spurs/Everton will fight it out for 4th. Teams like Newcastle and Liverpool will be there abouts.

I suppose when you each spend more than $100 million (and up to 5 times more than other sides) on your playing rosters you should be on the top of the table CB

Can you imagine if that happened in the NRL 😱pen_mouth:

3 minutes time added on and Chelsea get a penalty in the 94th minute.
Some classic Fergie coming up post match I reckon. Should be worth the wait.

Every time Fergie whinges about any official you just want to put your foot through the TV.
