[2022] If Madge goes, who you have as a replacement?

Wonder if Ricky Stuart might go okay here? I think his time is up at the Raiders, has a history with Sheens and I think might be okay for a couple of years with us. Sheens might even talk them into a coach swap, so both organisations aren't out of pocket. A bit left field I know, but an idea nonetheless.

TIm Sheens will take over as interim coach madge will be lucky to see the next 3 games out by all reports. I really hope it happens my dream will come true. Sooner madge goes the better. Time for him to see the light and leave. Instead of holding out the inevitable. I think John Morris will be a good candidate if his available next year. My opinion I heard that alot the players have lost faith in the tigers especially their coach his no good can't get them going then his tried his best got nowhere so it's time to go. The sooner the better

The players will instantly transform from lazy bums to committed hard-nosed first graders the minute a new coach walks in the door. That's the elephant in the room. Madge is forcing these guys to play the way they do week after week. So we sack Madge.
But what if the players lose faith in the new coach ? And play like lazy bums ?
What then ?
I know !! . . . A re-build.
You can't beat a good re-build.
We should try it.

I like johnny m, I just a bit concerned he won't have the ability to attract big names like the muppett we have now, he got the sharks to the finals yet still got punted, flanno is a must, but I think either the dogs or drags will pick him up, I actually think barret will be gone before maguire

Morris also was responsible for the Pathways programme at the Sharks. We were exposed to some of it yesterday.
I personally don't mind if we have Morris or Flanagan. Morris, working alongside Sheens, would be a breath of fresh air. He did well at Cronulla under difficult circumstances and with Sheens' presence should be able to attract new players to the club. I heard Flanagan in commentary on a Tigers game last year. His ideas on what we should be doing in attack made sense - again a breath of fresh air.

So here's the thing. I can't watch the Tigers play and not be passionate about them winning. So, although I feel we desperately need a new direction (coach), I hope they beat the Eels tomorrow. I have always been open to giving Madge all the chances he needs and if there is some miraculous turnaround tomorrow he will deserve to be kept on. If we get beaten badly PLEASE powers that be get the job done. Sack Madge so we fans can at least look forward to seeing if someone else can bring life back into the camp.

The only kind of coach I could see us attracting is one who has absolutely no other prospects to coach anywhere else. A guy like Ciraldo whose being groomed as the next big thing in the coaching world would be well advised to give us a wide berth. Someone like John Morris could be a possibility, as I don’t see him getting an NRL gig anywhere else anytime soon. He might be the best candidate we can attract.

I sense another tankfest at wankbest.

Ben Gardiner for interim coach.

If that happens and he proves he can lead our side to 40%+ wins for the rest of season, we give him the job.

Otherwise John Morris. Our club needs fresh ideas and John showed that at the Sharks.

I can't see Cameron leaving the riff. He's on a good thing at the moment, and our club is a tough gig. But in saying that 'if' he could turn us around, it would cement his place as a first class NRL coach.

If we get flogged again on Monday, Madge's role is untenable. The only reason he'll stay as our coach for the remainder of the year is contractual issues.

Madge's reported pay-out is $800K. I don't believe Pascoe's finance spreadsheet is true (creative accounting), so money will be an issue.

Gardiner is out of his depth, he is currently our attacking coach & was thought to be a coach who would bring the team together - look at how awesome he is going.

Our attack is the worst it has ever been in a Wests Tigers team & the players look lost.

I don't want him near the 1st grade side if we get a new coach.

I don't agree. A head coaches role is as much about the x and the o, but ultimately it's about getting the best out of players.

Madge does not do that.

Ben has proved his chops in the Cup as a head coach. Give him a go as the interim coach if Madge gets sacked.

If it doesn't work out, then review.

Sheens will never coach again. Not even in an interim role.

If Madge goes, will that give our two big signings for 2023 a out. Funny thing a lot of people talk how Madge is unpopular with players, but you also hear a lot of players giving him the thumbs up.

2022 is a write off, unless it gets absolutely ugly I would stick with Madge, no other coach is going to do better with the cattle we have available

Could be wrong, but I think Sheens is what drew them, not Madge.

Who can change the culture of the club that has 17 years of Back to back failure?
Culture is driven by senior players... finding those players with grit and the will to win is the key to our success, I cant recall recruiting any in recent memory.
We need to find players like Cameron Smith, Paul Gallen, Sam Burgess and Luke Lewis type players are needed to drive the herd otherwise the inmates are running the asylum.
That's why I believe that Dale Fincune was a massive flop in my eyes as he is the perfect modern day example a player that leaves it all on the paddock, currently we have too many followers / posers, however, I believe Hastings and Doueihi have it but need more time on the paddock to show there worth but they will just need help until then.
Api and Papallii' will help to drive standards next year!!

Ill back this for a very good reason:
Cronulla.

Ricky Coached Cronulla to the 2008 minor premiership and he coached them on Defense.
They were boring as sandpaper to watch but would win and Ricky instilled that defensive culture.

The problem with Ricky is he makes mistakes and hates Halfbacks. I suspect Luke Brooks and Hastings would both quit under him and to most on this forum would agree this would be good if Brooks was gone. Ricky has an idea and coaches the team to his idea.

When Ricky is making mistakes, no one can tell him he is wrong (Cronulla 2009/2010 and Parramatta). No one except Sheens.

We need grit, we need to get defense right and if we got offered Ricky for Madge right now I would take it.

The Defensive platform and culture that Ricky laid down was what Flanagan exploited when he took charge. We don't have our basics right and Madge can't flog them into us. Madge hasn't built our team and that is the biggest problem with his tenure.
