At the end of the day a fair portion of our squad have reached their ceiling, they've had multiple coaches, we've got better high performance trainers on board this year and for players like Benji, Brooks, Joey L, Eiso, Reynolds, Packer, I could name more but there's no point, they just aren't going to improve, and they're not improving the team. We need to produce/buy more talent but there's slim pickings out there for next year. 2022 is realistically when we can attract some top shelf talent.

Maguire could have the Panthers squad and still finish outside the 8. It's all about being a good man manager and a creative game plan backed up by quality assistants. He got flicked from Souths and hasn't learnt a thing as to why but knows how to blame the players ?‍♂️
Next year will be the same rubbish from him and an extension would be another poor decision from the front office

So who should be our coach?

For 2022 Flanagan and if sooner Griffin

I'd prefer for us to avoid coaches suspended for invlovement in drugs and cheating.

I thought a Flanagan was a used car salesman

Would like to get Griffin as an assistant coach with a large portion of his role being involved with the junior pathways.

Yeah I could handle that.

Good coaches attract good players. If Madge can get a couple of wins with a couple of good signings for next year. That will give you a idea if to extend hia stay.

Well the current Penrith coach was not much better when he was with us
Actually he treated our players like garbage
Just dumped them and the club and achieved exactly what he set out to do
Coach his little boy
I would not call him a man manager
I would call him a man ipulator
So he could get his own way
And he did
He didn't assemble the team he now has
It was mostly assembled for him by Griffin
There are much deeper issues at our club then coaching
The fact cleary has the panthers in 1st spot should show you that
If it was the coaches inability to get the team up then cleary was crap too
So my ? Is
Is cleary a better coach ?
If you say yes, my answer is he fail with us
If you say no, he is now the coach of the team running number one in the comp
It is clear we need better quality players
Cleary signed our crap players and failed, yet you expect Madge to work miracles and get cleary's assembled team firing
That's like going to jail for someone else's crime
Madge is not the guilty one here
The pretender who was handed the team to coach at Penrith is the guilty one
He now has a team of great players to utilise and they make him look good
We , the club need to find out why we struggle to sign top quality players
Is it $
Is it management
Is it location
Is it training facilities
Is our coach
Is it a perception that we are a weak club
Is it all of the above?
What ever it is it needs to be fixed soon
Many of us on here are growing increasingly frustrated
And we on here are the true supporters of our club
When we all argue it is not good
It shows we are still a long way from success

I wish Mick Doohan or Casey Stoner were still racing
Following a winner was a great feeling

Maybe the fans are backing the coach but not the players according to an article in today’s Tele.Saying there’s a lot of player unrest and a lot of disharmony behind the scenes and it’s showing in the side’s effort

According to the WT site we have 10 players off contract next year. It is possible that none of them will be re-signed. So, potentially we have at least 10 players who are not happy with Madge.

When you consider that we have only 11 players signed for 2021 and that Madge is engaged in a clean out, we could have many more than the 10 players disgruntled at the moment.

That is probably what happens when you have a poor, underperforming squad, and a coach that demands consistency and success. The players see the writing on the wall and are not happy.

It would be bizarre if, under these circumstances, the club took the side of the underperforming players and sacked the coach.

If we are going to replace 10 players, why haven’t we already made inroads? I know of one bench forward coming, hate to always be the pessimist but I fear we will just resign most of our current squad for next year. If that happens there must be some big questions asked of Pascoe and Hartigan.

WHat players have we missed out on?

WHat quality has been available?

I think there is more uncertainty now than when the season started.
I thought Doueihi would be our long term fullback - I’m not sure he is a fullback now
I thought Brooks was a lock in for years to come but there is something no right and it needs fixing
We need to buy a 6.
I’m happy with Liddle as hooker.
So 1 spine position is secure at present.
I thought our forward pack was developing well with only a couple of additions needed but we have been owned weekly over the past 6 weeks.
Our edge defence has regressed from last year
Our defensive resolve across the park has dissolved.
We continue to be a slow team. We need pace.

I’m not being emotional or going into a biased supporter rage - I am looking at our progress this year and on the field I just don’t see it. We are definitely no better off and in fact I reckon we are less certain of our future squad makeup.

It’s a concern really.

It really feels that we are starting again and that shouldn’t be the case. I’m really hoping that the investment in youth works.
We need Blore, McIntyre, Stefano, Mikaele Musgrove to work.
We need the new winger and Telau to work
We need Doueihi to find a spot (centre)
We need Twal, Aloiai Liddle to keep developing
