Wests Tigers fullback Adam Doueihi said a relaxed attitude at training last week helped the side start fast against the Bulldogs in Round 14 and they'll look to employ a similar approach this week as they step it up against the two-time defending premiers in the Sydney Roosters.
Having burst out of the blocks to a 22-6 lead before being made to work for their two points in the end, Doueihi said a more relaxed approach to the week had helped Wests Tigers take the pressure off and end their run of three straight defeats.
Now, the attention turns to winning back-to-back games for the first time since Round 7 and keeping themselves in the hunt for a top eight finish.
"We've gone through part of the season where we felt like we've put in some really hard weeks of training," Doueihi reflected.
"We come through the 80 minutes on game day and it just hadn't worked out for us, so we came in last week and took the shackles off a bit with less meetings.
"We had a big turnaround so we had a few more games on the field and a bit more fun.
"It was more of a relaxed vibe last week, and even heading in to the game we were much more chatty in warm-up and had a really relaxed mood.
"We felt as though it worked come the 80 minutes on the weekend, so we're going to take the same mindset in to this week — worry about ourselves and get our attack and defence right. We won't worry too much on the Roosters but just about us.
"It's been a tough season with no byes and not much of a freshen up when we're in the thick of it, so when we have these longer turnarounds we're going to have to take a bit of a step back," he added. "But, in saying that, when we're on the training paddock it's all guns blazing and the intensity has been up where it needs to be.
"We've got no slouch in the opposition this week in the Roosters.
"They're going to be up for it and have some big-name players back so I'm sure they will be up for it."

Rugby league journalism really needs to up its game. People are no longer interested in these fluff articles which serve no purpose other than to fill space. Also, nowhere in the article is Doueihi even quoted saying the words written in the title.

Actually have to agree with posters , about the journalism . Would like substance to stories from media. Like actually analyse a game ??
When the write about a game . It’s short and basically only rehashes they scored in this minute etc .
Would like them to say they played the middle , attacked this side and so on . Even say something like brooks peppered the line with short passes and then saw opportunity and threw cutout etc
You watch NFL commentators on Tv and they can Analyse and talk about one single play for hours and hours on end . We have a game with non stop action and they can barely write a line or talk about the game for a minute
