We’ll probably send him over to Brookvale in a stretch limo and foot the bill, just to appease the pigs at News Corp.
I respect the Storm more for their hard edge demands for a quality replacement in the JAC negotiation. The very player they requested (and we protected) is now pee-ing us up against the walls of The Daily Telegraph building.

We are going to be compensated - have you forgotten that already. Just not with a player.

We aren't getting compensated at this point. Compensation would require Manly giving us something in return for releasing Aloiai. The proposed deal now is that we just get Aloiai off our books and therefore we sign someone else.

We did the same thing with Matterson and it allowed us to sign AD and LL.

My opinion is that we should have kept Matterson and we should keep Aloiai. These guys were our best forwards and close to best players in their last season with us. It just seems stupid to release quality players because they spit the dummy.

We should be compensated but I think the writing is on the wall in that we sign JO and release JA.

I would have much preferred to have the 2020 LL and AD over the 2020 Matterson?

For sure. We came out miles ahead here and I rate Matterson as a really good player. I actually reckon LL is a significantly better edge player than Matterson. I think Matterson in the middle is awesome and if we had kept him we would have our lock position sorted.

Problem is Matterson didn't see himself as a middle. Interestingly enough we had 2 players we would have accepted as a trade for Matterson and we signed them both anyway.

The media have not said we need to release him at all. Quit being so sensitive.

No, but they have said we are soft and had we stood our ground with Matterson this wouldn't have happened again 12 months later.

Matterson was mentally weak, JA is not a star, better off without them.

Agree, when players make the decisions these blokes have made, it’s more about them than any club.

Matterson kicked stones just like Moses before him just like JA is now. Lots of people don't like their work mates, professionals just get on with the job. As for the NRL changing things i long for the day but until it's in, it aint "in" if you know what i mean.

Matterson must have still been kicking stones this year as he was no where near the player for Parra that he was for us.

I could be wrong but there is no evidence at all that we are being compensated. The evidence that we have even though it's poor evidence states that we get no compensation.

I don't like it. I reckon it's bad. In stating that I understand the club just wants to get a team together who wants to win and we don't need players there who aren't committed.

Yep, I would happy if we could get Manly to provide a dowry to the Panthers that would in turn benefit us in 2021 though.

We have a well known lawyer as chair now, get him onto pressuring the NRL to fix the rules. That should be his role instead of talking about contract discussions in the media.

Can someone explain to me how signing JO is compensation for JA leaving WT. We are signing JO from the Broncos with perhaps 2021 and 2022 subsidised by the Broncos. That is a completely standalone transaction from JA and is similar to the way we bought Mbye. If, because we have JO we let JA go to Manly a year early, where have we received any compensation? Sure we're not paying any of his 2021 freight but neither we should because he sought to break his contract by leaving a year early. I just don't see why some are saying signing JO is compensation for letting JA go to Many one year early.

Why release Josh Aloiai
We get JO and he can take in Josh's position in the team

Make JA mow lawns and clean the dressing rooms until we get something out of Manly
The pressure is on Josh, His manager and Manly
Unless Josh's manager orchestrated the JO deal, I would continue to play hard ball
If we don't get something in return, the Josh plays for the Tigers
Then everyone in the league world can see what he is made of
Is Josh a Tanker or a Wanker

The MEDIA says we have to release Aloia so that’s what we’ll do.

But how do you know we weren’t compensated, they don’t have to tell us?

The Pom came on here and stated exactly what I've stated. We are just getting Aloiai off our books. The same thing happened with Matterson.

I’m with you. Absolutely nothing stopping the next bloke doing it now. No message sent. No point made. Unless PVL does something we are still a door mat/stepping stone/dead carcass, whatever u call it

We have a well known lawyer as chair now, get him onto pressuring the NRL to fix the rules. That should be his role instead of talking about contract discussions in the media.

I worry about our relationship with the NRL, Justin will meet with the NRL in the next week or two, when clearly this is a pressing issue for us. PVL changed other things at the drop of a hat this year. I don’t know the backstory but it often feels the NRL are happy for us to be mediocre

Then get in the media about it constantly about how this is a blight on the game and turning fans away.

I’ve provided feedback to WT and NRL in the past and it’s fallen on deaf ears

I'm more talking about what the club should do.

In saying that I have found the club to be reasonably accepting of feedback as long as long as it is worded appropriately.

The only thing stopping a player of course is the club, but after his silly outbursts, do you really want to keep him?

We have his wage and maybe some extra? available now to look at someone else that I am sure the club is looking at?

We do need to sign 2 more players, so we need to see who they are, Alioai’s money will go towards this.

Just need to be patient.

Recent contacts have been a shambles for me, understand COVID has hit clubs hard though so wouldn’t expect seamless administration at any club
