Ahh, sweet and sour kebabs eh !Yea probably a bit of an exaggeration. I left Auburn in 1979 and there was a fair middle eastern population then. More recently though the Chinese have become major inhabitants.
Charles Dickens pub is a great spot, and has been for years. Right in the centre of the city.Restaurant wise love Rare steakhouse, Waterfront. Stalicites on Lonsdale less formal. But food is everywhere. As a bars, loads of rooftop bars catering for different themes.
Use this as a guide.
Normally, we stay in CBD and cruise streets and shops daytime, coffee here coffee there taking note of little doors between shops which normally indicate access to a rooftop bar. Walking past food we decide where to eat that night and later try for drinks. At night one walks past a door with a bouncer or two......walk in and see if you like vibe and music. Elephant and Wheelbarrow pub on Bourke great on weekend's. Loads of bars Bourke st and Lonsdale st , Flinders lane. Strip club's King st.
And if you got any money left try Southgate strip leading to casino.
Charles Dickens underground pub awesome for watching sports from other states.

And it is now legal in Victoria.Don’t know if anyone saw the article in the Daily Mail about euthanasia in Canada.
Due to their liberalism in the last 12 months over 10,000 people died from euthanasia. That equates to 3% of total deaths and double last year.
There is a piece on a disabled female Vet who was approached about whether she would prefer to be euthanised instead of being a burden to herself and the state.
Seems like a rubbish clearing exercise, of the human kind !
Food for thought about the whole topic. Whilst I don’t disagree with euthanasia, I only agree if fully discussed and agreed by family, and regular doctor.
The Euthanasia debate is a bit like the Abortion debate.Don’t know if anyone saw the article in the Daily Mail about euthanasia in Canada.

That was the point of the article, numbers were increasing rapidly. The Euthanasia debate is a bit like the Abortion debate.
People feel so strongly one way or the other that legislating for an equitable outcome is hopeless.
Ten thousand sounds very high. Did they all need to go before it was their time?
Who approached that disabled Vet?
