Anything exciting for XMAS

Going to a fishing resort/camp with the family and two mates and their families. Tides will be rubbish but we might get some trolling in for pelagics and maybe some fishing off the beach for barra, queenies or salmon. Christmas lunch is laid on and we're planning a seafood dinner for later. Otherwise good food & drinks with mates and some beach cricket if the weather allows or just watch the storms roll by from the verandah.

Top staff NT , I'm getting a bit jealous of the things that some of you are doing :frowning: , my holidays will be boring compared to you guys  , only joking i will have a ball with the kids and Family , as long as no alarm to wake up to that is a holiday in itself  .

Not having to go to work, sleeping in, playing with your kids and having fun….. It doesn't get any better than that FT. You are a lucky man. :stuck_out_tongue:

This will be my baby girl's first Christmas. She'll only be just over 3 months old so the mrs & I will probably be more excited than her but just looking forward to making some family memories.

Oh & hopefully there'll be a new Tigers jersey in the stocking for me!

Congrats mate !
It'll only get more exciting for her as she gets older .
My kids asked for cash this year ( cheeky buggers).
They soon lose their innocence !

Haha cheers mate. Well at least you don't have to think about what to get them. She's actually screaming away as I type this…..another sleepless night! Thank God for coffee!!

Thanks Tigermama. Sounds like you have a great trip planned in the Himalayas. My mrs is from Peru & we went on a few treks through the Andes a couple of years ago. Some of the best scenery I've ever seen. You will have a ball!

Very appropriate that you're doing some high altitude training in the preseason too

You really are lucky 'forever', you have kids and need an alarm to wake up. No such thing as sleeping in at our house. If we're not up when the kids get up (sparrows) they come in and rumble us just to make sure we're available.

Awesome hobbo , my parents took us when i was 14 years old , Disney , Universal Studios , Kennedy space Centre , L.A , Miami . Have a lot of Family in Miami ft lauderdale and that place is awesome. We are planning in about 4 years time a 2 month trip to the U.S , waiting for the kids to be old enough to remember and save a lot of money which is a struggle Town these days to save , that's where the Bank comes in handy

I'm leaving all the planning up to the mrs !
I just hand over the money lol
My kids will be 11 & 13 years of age , I hope they bloody remember it because they ain't going again !!!!

Perfect age hobbo , my sister did San Fran and she said that place is a must so try and fit that in if interest you ? Golden Gate Bridge,Alcatraz island , Fisherman's Warf, Muir Woods National Park to name a few places .

Funny you mention that FAT, I just got back from my honeymoon last Monday and we virtually went everywhere you said in San Fran. Sausalito is a great place to get a feed as well. Did a day trip out to Yosemite as well, by christ that is a gorgeous part of the world.

Hobbo, make sure you do the Kennedy Space Centre if you're headed out to Florida. I'm a massive nut about astronomy and astrophysics but even my wife really enjoyed it and she's at best got a passing interest in it.

'hobbo' If you're into Mexican food at all, southern California is a great place to get it. Look for genuine Mexican run places (where all the local mexicans go for a feed) even little walk up lunch places. Yummm.
I agree with CB, Yosemite is a beautiful place if you have time and if you're travelling that far, Crater Lake in Oregon is an absolutely special place. Safe travels!

Congrats, it's a beautiful time of the year and as a parent to see the sparkle in your kids eye opening there presents is a treasured memory, though you might have to help her this year opening her present .

I always spare a thought for the less fortunate people as well and remind my kids to be grateful whatever Santa leaves under the trees there are some kids less fortunate and a safe return to our Diggers.

When they come to the bed early in the morning, I play the draw on my back game  and I never guess it right so they got to draw it again, there onto me now they know I guess it wrong on purpose so they can keep doing it

Good read…

Can't contribute anything too exciting though.

I reckon you'd love it Demps. If you're crazy about US sports (particularly basketball and american football,) now is the time to go. They're nuts for it. Couldn't believe how popular college football is, probably more followed than the NFL.
