ANZ Stadium Rebuild Cancelled

You asked for an example where there is 2 venues close to each other that is used by the one sport. I gave you one. There was a cricket test at Optus last year and there’s a test at the WACA this year. Your moving goal posts.
I think if 3 NRL clubs will use a Homebush stadium then it’s more justifiable than one tenant in Penrith or one in Brookvale.

Yes you gave me two stadia near enough to each other that held the same sport, no argument there. The purpose of the question was not to prove no such arrangement existed, the purpose was to investigate how two such stadia interact.

Your example shows that the new stadium (Optus) basically overtakes the old one. WACA has been demoted in Test status and doesn't even host T20s any more, only WA State matches. Yes WACA will host a test match this Summer - Australia vs Afghanistan. WACA is basically obsolete for top-tier cricket.

So it goes back to Homebush, I can't understand why we'd build another rugby league stadium next door to ANZ, just with a smaller "boutique" size. It would be high risk of white-elephanting the other ground - either the boutique one ends up to small for any important matches, or the big one rarely gets used because people prefer the tiny one for tiny crowds.

I have a major issue for day games sitting in the Eastern stand, where us members are, with the Sun belting down.

The setting sun on the hill at LO is a bastard also.

That is one of the reasons I don't sit on the hill, being a ranga and all, lol

Yep, that’s why I’m in the stand.

It would mean less games at ANZ, yes. Its not suitable for club games and it what were trying to get away from. . If every Sydney club is playing out of these boutique stadiums I'd imagine south's and Canterbury would move from ANZ . VLandys mentioned the other day that Souths and Canterbury won't be forgotten and thinks their contact with ANZ would be void now.
May aswell pick a location to suit 3 teams.
