Bad thing about next week's game

If we can hold on to the pill we will be way to strong for the dogs but 4 straight losses for them has me worried a little as once again they will be more desperate than us
I agree, coming up against a desperate bulldogs team concerns me.
would be great to see wests-tigers just as despereate.
sometimes, as we have seen over the years, you win well one week and expect it to happen again in next game, and end up losing.
**for wests-tigers to be any chance of making the top at at years end, you need to beat the teams placed lower than you.**

I just hope Sheens doesnt throw out the line:

"We want to win, whereas they need to win"

If he says that we're doomed.

I also think that the players cant think "we have won 2 in a row", they need to think "We have won 2 of our last 6, we got some catching up to do".

They need to be mentally well prepared for this and not expect to just turn up and win.

I think I would be disappointed a little if we don't flog them. The last time we played them (and when I say play I use the term loosely as we were never given a chance to actually play against them), we were still in it even though we had little ball. They weren't all that good, a better side, given the possession in the first half, would have put more on us.

Last 2 starts for Wests have been a gritty, ugly win in horrible conditions, and a 50 point shellacking at an under-strengthened NZ Warriors outfit. As pleasing as both victories were, from my perspective both weren't real indications of quality football. Canterbury are a grinding football team that can get on the front foot at any given time. They have good go forward and have strong, fast edges.

Throw into the mix that they are once again in a 'desperate' position and situation and the attitude of the Bulldogs will be hardened and determined just like it was in Round 3\. Wests have got to remember how hard and how fast the Berries came out of the blocks and how much defence was sustained in their previous meeting. However, they can take homage at the fact that Canterbury scored 3 tries off kicks out of the 24 points incurred in their last meeting.

The Tigers can also take a great deal of confidence that they have only conceded a collective 12 points in their past two clashes which goes to show that the attitude and mentality is in tune. Wests have also got to consolidate consistency. Friday night's game is a potential 4 point victory, leading into the first home game at Leichhardt after the Bye. A possible 4 points with a home game in hand could go a long way to cement a top 4 position.

So as 'desparate' as Canterbury-Bankstown may be, there's just as much at stake for Wests Tigers also.

Kevin Moore has publicly come out in the media and pleaded for his players to fire up this week. Tigers will need to expect this and be prepared to counter it.

the difference between game 1 v dogs and this one???

SIMPLE!

We have a tiny stain or reminder of how bad we looked v souths this time….........key motivator never to play half heartedly again!!!

We have the game to beat the Bulldogs. The key is discipline. In the past 2 weeks, we won both games convincingly simply by doing the basics right. Forget scorelines when it comes to the Tigers. Once we get the momentum, we are certainties to put points on.

If we work on our completions, make effective one on one tackles and build momentum through a good licking game, we will put 30 on the Dogs…

**Stop putting pressure on week to week performances. Even the Sharks can still make the Finals in 2010\. <big>This isnt a must win game. we only need to stay in the 8 and have positive momentum from round 20 to 26</bigand the Tigers will feature well in the Finals.**
Remember, we have a 100% record in Finals Football...lol

Yes, correct
We're nicely placed now…hopefully no more cosecutive losses, even if we go LBWWLWWLWWL ETC were sweet...just no more consecutive L's

Well said that man. Losing can mean bugger all as long as you bounce right back. Doggies didn't embark on any memorable winning streaks last year, but never lost back to back

Very weirdly, this is the 3rd time in 3 years where we have played the Bulldogs while hoping to win a 3rd game in a row. They have beaten us each and every time. Not to mention earlier in the year when we were after 4 in a row and they beat us yet again.

rd 6 2010 we had won last 3 games, doggies beat us, we lost our next 3 games in row.
rd 8 2009 we were going for 3 wins, doggies beat us, we lost another 4 games in a row.
rd 3 2008 we were going for 3 wins, doggies beat us, we lost 3 games in a row.
rd 13 2010 we are going for 3 wins…. (..hmm what happens next...)

So I'm not getting my hopes up TOO high for this match. We can certainly beat the doggies, I just hope we don't implode and wind up on another month long losing streak like so many times before. One loss is enough.
