Benji is done

he's given us a premiership, always a legend in my eyes. That's why i didn't care when he tried to pick up a girl i was with at the Bourban bar back in 2004 , i knew he would be great for us!

I think he's like 3rd in the NRL for try assists and he didn't play 3 games.

He's still got it.. his passing game and short kicking game is probably still one of the best of all time!

In saying that, that miss was shocking and there will be plenty more.. he's been working on his defence since 2006 with barely any improvement. I have no doubt in the world that he will finish up end of this year. However, it is very unfair on him to put a lot of blame on him for this year. He's singlehandedly carried our attack.

Benji gave us a premiership ...I thought there was 16 others that day that helped ....seem to remember Prince got the CC ...and Benny Galea shouldn't have been too far behind Prince

Attack means nothing when you let in 1 try per game on your own and that’s not counting the misses that lead to a try one tackle later

definitely agree, but my whole point was that im still quite surprised at how good Benji is still at setting up tries and line breaks. His vision and deception is the best I've ever seen.

my point being he was a key cog. Not to take anything away from the other boys.

Side note: this forum has a way of being extremely tough and disrespectful to so many players.
It's nice to see that despite Benji's obvious deterioration and the practically unanimous view that he needs to hang up the boots, he is not subject to that same kind of treatment.

Respect.

Maybe if benji had not left us via a picture in an Auckland jersey

Love Benji, always will.
He's been as good as he has been bad for us this year and still has produced some classy, silky skills.
Yet sadly for us fans, I feel he's also a true reflection of where our current playing group is - and that is a burnt out shell of that premiership team.

a little depressing because of how talented he is/was.

we're from the same class and we used to play a lot against Benj; Dene; Brons (and brons older brother); josh lewis et al @Lambert Park and Benj was always the most talented but i think his time is up

He is our best attacking half. He is going to create points. The problem is that he has too many mistakes in him when we have the ball and his defence is really bad.

that's the sad thing in all this. Except maybe for Grant he is still our most creative player still. Moving forward it is a worry that no one else is replacing him in the last couple of years. Yes he is on the wane but no one is stepping up demanding his place.

That was not a good moment, but even if some harbour a grudge it is well hidden.

If only we have players (Doueihi, Nofoaluma, Aloiai, Grant/Liddle excused) that contribute as much as Marshall, Even at his age!

Benji does contribute about 20mins of scintillating play in one game and for the next 3/4 he is appalling for a player that has played as long as he has...his defense in the halves is atrocious and I,myself would expect far better from him....its really time to retire Benj you have been great but now your embarrassing yourself...

This is surely his last year and we are out of the finals. There's no reason for him to feature in any games for the remainder of the year. Anyone not in next years plans should be sitting on the sideline.

I don't see any value in bagging Benji. His positives for us and the club far outweigh any of the negatives. He is on minimum money and still contributes more than players who we have paid inflated contracts to for next to zero contribution. His days are numbered happy to leave it at that.
