Good grief. Tim Sheens, Warren McDonnell and now Benji Marshall. So much for evolving, adapting and challenging the future. Embarrassing.

Not embarrasing at all. Most clubs would envy the experience now available at the club. I noticed no one found it emabarring to have a 72 year ole coach at souths this year. No wonder - he got results.

IMO and based on the clubs release, Benji will be nowhere near the team or coaching roles. He will be talking to sponsors at games and events.

Benji isnt forgoing Foxtel money to hang out at training.

wasnt long ago he was bagging maguire interesting to see this play out

Maguire has been harnessed since Benji rightly made his remarks.

He should of never have left, the first or the second. He will be a wonderful ambassador, mentor, & idol . Welcome back, you add what we need, intelligence, presentation, honesty and integrity. West Tigers history in the flesh.

The board members will have a scapegoat every time something is leaked to the media. This has the potential to be a total fiasco

With the pathways program and an influx of talented kids having one of the greats around to do some mentoring is smart and he gives something back . The Corporates love rubbing shoulders with guys like Sheens and Benji good move by the club , this shows me there is big moves to right the ship !

Life membership, by all means, but an ambassador, still absolutely filthy about how he left last year and all the crap that the media put out via Benji. Another poor decision from the same blokes that brought back Sheenius.

Much better than having BJ Leliua as Ambassador. Wests tigers quality on the rise.

This really is ludicrous. We are, somehow, meant to be excited for the future of WT because we have re-instated relics of the past? I acknowledge the efforts and success of the 2005 mob, but this is not 2005 anymore!

Well, I'm not excited at all. I'm saddened. I'm disillusioned.

I assume Marshall will continue his FOX Sports role? So, we have an "ambassador" who was willing to heap criticism on the club when he was, correctly in my opionon, moved on. And, who has an outlet to offer his comments on WT through his media profile; the mob who dumped him and who now rejoice in welcoming him back!!

Not me. It's unfathomable, in my opinion. The future has to be different from the present and the recent past.

This is yet another indicator, to me, that the real issues with WT lie with the Chair, CEO and Board.

So how do you explain the love for the greatest relic of all Leichhardt oval !
Can’t pick and choose relics..

The way to ensure positive support from high profile former players is to have them heavily involved in the club.
