Santi looks to be twice the player that Lovett is at the moment IMO. Lovett hasn't shown a lot so far but the people who watch the WT NYC games regularly would be the best ones to make the call on who is better out of the two.

Santi was picked for Italy. Probably prefers to play the adults World Cup

Sure. He will be lucky to get a couple of games before they are eliminated.

On the other hand, the Junior Kangeroos will be hard to beat and will get more games and more publicity.

But what the hell, let's play with the adults.

Geez I wonder, play against the very best players in the world on a big stage, albeit with a weak team or play a glorified schoolboys comp between Australia and NZ.
You're deadest kidding if you feel playing in front of 100 people for a sausage roll and a can of coke is a better option than in a large stadium in a televised match.

Its like asking a player whether they'd rather be playing NRL for a team at the bottom of the ladder or playing Holden Cup for one of the better teams. A vast majority would rather play at NRL level I think you'd find!

Junior kangaroos means very little in the big scheme of things.

As for Santi and Lovett, Santi just has that X factor in that he can break the line, offload, score tries as well as make lots of tackles. Lovett seems to run angles and make lots of tackles, overall having less impact. If he can't make things happen against Holden Cup level defences, I have reservations about his ability to do it at NRL level.

Not all Holden Cup stars go on to be stars of the NRL. But how many squaddies for Holden Cup sides go on to make NRL? Even fewer…
