Very average 1st half, all the usual stuff, poor 5th tackle options, some shocking passes, than I thought he had a strong second half. Very hard to shine as no7 when every set your 90m from the try line. Badger was poor as always and certainly gifted the Pennys plenty of yards and possession

What a load of garbage. Badger was pro Tigers today. Our shocking hands and poor defence, as always, lost that game.

Shocking hands and poor defence and lack of skill certainly were behind the loss. But for you to suggest Badger was pro Tigers is the single dumbest thing ive ever heard come out of your mouth. I don't know how it looked on TV up the in QLD, but at Pepper Stadium there were two teams playing footy, only one being policed on 10 metres.

Blaming the ref is the tactic of the excuse maker. You blamed him before the game even got going so what does that say? We got the rub, the refs had no bearing on that result.

Actually the game was going. Please tell me how a 9-5 penalty count against and 2 of those we received being mandatory, suggests he was " pro Tigers" ?

Then, do yourself a favour big fella, and read my first sentence of my intial reply to you. Once you've done that you will see i didn't blame the ref for the loss. I did however, call you out for claiming him to be "pro Tigers".

There is no excuse making going on. Again, Shocking hands and poor defence and lack of skill were certainly behind the loss. ( that was me quoting me  )

As i said to you, i wasn't watching on TV, it was clear at the ground from the beginning only one team was being policed on 10 metres, and i can accept that as a home team you may get some sort of leg up, although i believe Badger has always been a favourites ref as opposed to a home team ref. Does that mean he cost us the game? No, but it does mean we were going to have to be much better to overcome the "pro Tigers" ref. And yes mate, we weren't good enough to do that.

If you want a reality check as to how little Brooks has progressed check this out.
Brooks 78 NRL games
Cleary 35 NRL games
Taylor 43 NRL games
Temaire martin 18 NRL games
Munster 59 NRLgames
Keary 83 NRL games
Moses 81 NRL games
Austin 82 NRL games
Moylan 87 NRL games
Walker 38 NRL games
All these players are way better halves than Brooks with the same or less NRL games, and I won't embarrass him by posting stats like try assists etc

I watched every game this weekend. Of the players you mention (and which played) I could not honestly say that only 2 ( Cleary and Austin) had good games. Rest were garbage. Every week we focus on mistakes Brooks makes but really have a look what great games some of the "way better" players produce for their teams.
Work with staticians all my life and your selection for this argument don't impress me.

So he may or may not have kept a slim 10\. No big calls that were 50/50 went against us including disallowed tries. He did not influence the result. For him that is pro tigers.

We were treated okay by the other officials, but his decision to call Brooks for a knock on when his hands were nowhere near it was at a crucial point of the game and apart from others that were constantly offside, I doubt that Campbell-Gillard ever got back ten.

Exactly. I don't think Cleary was much better if any better than Brooks today as well. His goal kicking was great but his overall game wasn't great.

One of the problems with Brooks kicking game is we do not get close enough to roll the ball into the in goal to get a repeat set. At best the 5th tackle is on our attacking 30 most time further out. So he has only one option the bomb.

Rubbish - every time we get close enough to put a short kick in he kicks over the deadball line.

How many time today did we get close enough to roll one into the in goal?

Apart from Munster (who didn't play anyway) - Most don't impress me either.

Brooks is 22 yo?
He will be a very good no 7 in a few years. I rate him. How many better no 7s at his age or younger are there in the game? Not many…
Have some patience.
The Tigers are rubbish. Dont expect a young HB to save the day.

All of them

Brooks is not a 7!

Please bring Nathan Cleary over Ivan, his kicking game and the way he controls his side at such a young age is so exciting, and he's goalkicking is superb.

I've got a suggestion, what does everyone think about trying to turn Brooks into a fullback?

He's got a good running game, and his passing game has shades of brilliance, his 3 on 2 ability can be used more often.

May struggle under the highball dont you think? Also having him as the last line of defence doesnt inspire confidence.
