Chammas airing our dirty laundry... again!

Sounds like Chammas has conducted his research by reading through the comments of our collective esteem on the forum.
Our defense has been nothing short of putrid and has been so based on not being able to execute any of the basic fundamentals that are taught in junior football.
Anyone that had any part to play in our defense from structure to mentality to execution should be shown the door.

I wonder if our defence-oriented coach has anything to do with our defence? Nah, couldn't possibly be.

Wayne 'Snoopy' Collins is the defence coach I believe....

Chammas has to write something, I mean it's his job, but let's not let facts get in the way of a good story. It's how journos work these days.

Throughout today alone there has been about 3 or 4 negative stories on Fox about the Tigers failings and Maguire's failings as a coach etc. You'd think we had just won the spoon. There's 3 other teams who finished below the Tigers yet I never see them copping it from pillar to post.

We just got beaten 38-0 by the team that got the spoon. We deserve this.

I'm not saying we don't deserve a bit of stick however it's the same rhetoric every 2nd day of the week. I'm all for an end of season review, blow it up and start fresh however the media dribble is over the top. Warriors got pumped 44-0 yesterday, Cows, Broncos and Dogs all finished below us and barely a sniff of negative press.

And, it's all generated by Michael Chammas and then the other lazy reporters and TV presenters who buy into his anti-Maguire vitriol and present it as "fact".

Forget the results or the inconsistent defence or the narrow losses or the weekly team selections; the worst decision of the club, and I assume Maguire, was allowing that Fox Sports doco to take place.

Now, many on here who watched it use it to create rumours that validate their biases and use it as "evidence" to tell the rest of us, the thinking and reasoned WT fans, what "has" to happen next.

And, the likes of Chammas, fuelled by his weird fascination and fatuation for Benji Marshall, is happy to add to the drip-feed of headlines that destabilise the WT club.

Yep. Haven't seen any direct quotes in this article. He's making out that he's stating fact when he is just dribbling what most people have already concluded for themselves anyway.

Or our amazing halfback whose job is under threat.

So much misdirected anger.
If we weren't crappy he'd have nothing to write about.

After such a disastrous season, the concern about a snitch leaking stories to the media is amusing.

It's more important that we sign a highly regarded young coach who will continue on the good work with our talented juniors and build a side to challenge for a future title. I hope when he joins us, he is allowed to bring one or two talented young players from his current club to strengthen our roster.

Ciraldo, Flanagan, Ivan cleary same player manager.

Correct and for a few months it has been coming from him. As much as we hope for a Ciraldo, the push is 100% behind Flanagan.

I guess the upside with Flanagan is that if he is closely linked to a player manager, you get on the marrakesh express and have a host of his stable mates at WTs.

We ask to look at his client list. Mbye is a good player but we paid too much for him.

To everyone that watched fairytales from Tigerland

Remember the try v the Warriors when we lost by 2 ...and Madge screams about not giving up your inside shoulder .......

Well that gives you a picture of our defence everyone .....if players aren't following their opposition number and are compacting the line because the middle is folding ..it explains why our wingers are getting left high and dry and facing 3 on 1's ......

I know this will get confusing .....but yes you need a firm defensive system ...but that system needs to be fluid ...even though we play our thirds of the field ...we really need to be talking big time ....caling who you are taking and be prepared to make positive defensive calls (being fluid )

This passive defence is a load of crap to be honest .....it's basically the opposite of relying on line speed ...it's more based on your defence being as fast as your slowest defender ...OK yes you maintain a straight line ...but it is so easy to bend the line and just roll over the top of side

Bring Bryce Gibbs back and have him work solely with 2-3 blokes solely based on developing 80 minutes of line speed every week .....like Melbourne ...Penrith ...Parra

Fixing our defence is key ...the less points we need to score every week to win games the easier

Defence ,Defence , Defence

Mate I like your post, can I just say that these players are professional NRL contracted players, they train as a team,do gym work to strengthen their bodies and use endless tackling bags to learn the technique of tackling...
Madge puts gameplans and structures in place to put in to play at game time....
Question is.....how the hell can these blokes go out there, arm grab, miss tackles, fall of players and allow offloads...its horrendous how many times this year it happened...people can blame Maguire all they like,to me its lack of committment, poor attitude and not being up to NRL standard...
If I have said something that people havent seen, then feel free to reply...

Yep that the modus operandi in the NRL
2> from NRL admin to club land , leak .. see reaction from media and public and then make decision based on opinions

They leaked mid year about madge and the.media supported madge so board went quiet.

Must be 'flying the kite' again but this time madhe doesn't have as much media support.

Still don't think changes coaches will fix anything.

First get some better assistants (kristian wolf would be awesome), some actual leaders on field and sheens in.

If after next year madge is still not working- let wolf (or insert other assistant) take the top job
