Changes need to be made

We are not that far off….we were well in control of that game until we started dropping the ball....losing control of possession and that's when the poor tackling and disciplines started to pile up.

The one that really killed me was the Lovett flop in front of the posts on the last just after halftime. This guy is quickly falling into the Ashford, moltzen, anasta class. Poor ball handling, dominated in attack, dumb penalties and ineffective tackles and that's being kind.

Do we accept another year of no finals under Taylor this year?

Gee, you give in easily.

If the team gives in as easily as you, I guess you do accept it.

Fortunately they won't - so they certainly won't accept it after a lousy 5 games.

But how is a new coach going to fix this? Maybe if he had some salary cap space to replace some of the underperformers….but he ain't got the cattle atm, it's not the coaching....why do they play like a top 4 team for 20-30 mins and then Play like nsw cup? It's not the coaching, maybe it's their experience, physical capabilities??? I don't know but a new coach ain't gonna do anything....shuffling the bench is like moving the deck chairs on the titanic....it ain't gonna help us. Until our current players decide they want to stop losing this is our lot

Exactly why should we settle for another year of mediocrity when the team is capable of so much more.

Agreed but I think decision should be made at seasons end. Another failed finals appearance will.be enough evidence for both parties to go seperate ways

I find it hard to persist with Lovett. Hopefully Edwards takes his spot next week. Cherrington is being wasted and either needs to play 40 minutes per game, or not at all, it's a waste of a bench spot ad I'd be looking at adding Chee-Kam for utility value. I expect Halatau to make way for Sirro in a couple of weeks.

I agree the only thing that could make matters worse than having an unsuccessful coach is firing him through the season I'm hopefully Taylor can turn this ship around but iv been saying that for 18 months now is rather him see out the year than create more instability especially after the glorious off season the club had

It's got to be up to the players to turn this around…..they aren't poorly coached, they are young, inconsistent and inexperienced and were taught a lesson by a very experienced team tonight. However at stages we were all over them.

5 tries all today. We're not that far off but too many crucial errors and too many passengers. Some of those guys seem a bit complacent since they know they're going to get picked every week.

We need to pick replacement players who deserve it and are showing form. I haven't seen the lower grades but apparently Edwards, Chee Kam and JAC were all ordinary in the NSW Cup. However, you have to consider form over a stretch and also whether or not they are simply better than the current players. For those reasons I would drop Brooks, Rankin, Lovett and Cherrington and replace them with Littlejohn, Fine, Chee Kam and either JAC or Karwhin. The priority should be to boost go forward and maybe provide a bit more starch in defense. When Sironen is available I suppose he goes into the team but I'm by no means sold on him. As I said on the 'Team v Newcastle' thread, people have said Fine is going well so he deserves a spot ahead of Edwards who probably lacks match fitness right now. All of this is so tedious and frustrating because Taylor's continued stubbornness and stupidity is bordering on the ridiculous or dare I say the insane…...You can't pick players BECAUSE you like them or because other players like them...

Sure they do, but who are you bringing in? There's no one playing in NYC, NSW Cup, or even RMC that's going to make a difference between winning and losing. We need outside recruits. Decent, seasoned recruits. Do we have the room to go in the player marker next yr? Probably not, but we aren't going to go far in this comp until we are able to do.

Sorry, but you can bring in JAC, Chee Kam, Edwards, whoever you like. its not going to do jack.

I have previously defended him, but Rankin needs to go. His defence is solid, but shows little on hit-ups and kick returns and has now been caught out of position when attacking a number of times. Would look at JAC, MCK or Peninsula with a possible backline shift to accomodate.
Our bench is completely ineffective with Ava, Aloiai, Lovett and Cherrington all offering little in the game time they are getting. I would use Halatau as the back up hooker and would find room on the bench for Griffin, MCK and Edwards.

We need to start with Taylor then buy a real coach not a budget reject so we can save money hopefully then Lovett and Buchanan will follow him out the door honestly Taylor is the only clown who would give those two a regular first grade run

Sorry to break it to you, but the only coaches we can afford are ''budget rejects''. It's not like we can just go and poach Bennett, Bellamy of Hasler. It takes money we don't have. It's not out of choice :deadhorse:

Heleta or Chance Peni would be so much better on the wing than Rankin. Heleta and Peni are also very capable centres whilst Heleta has shown ability this year playing fullback for state Cup. It is certainly time for these youngsters to be called up. What is really destroying the club is that Taylor is a negative coach who seems never inclined to blood new players who have real ability and potential. One prime example is the halfback position. If Taylor had any real ability or courage as a coach he would, this coming week. drop Brooks and replace him with either Littlejohn or Rankin but it is likely that the chance of that happening is similar to the chance of Wests Tigers. finishing higher than 14th position this year.

Cruise control Rankin was left for dead 'attempting'to chase down the Sharks players. He has a mid air goose step following by a inward bound run for 5 meters for a loss of -2 meters.

Hasn't threatened the opposition in the first 5 rounds. We will have a ghost replacing Teddy during Origin.

Maybe some of these guys playing reserve grade are pissed off and not playing to their potential because they know historically that whatever they do or however well they play, they know that they won't get a call up.
We will lose some good cheap buys with lots of potential because of this.

cherrington better off playing 80 mins in state cup, seriously how much game time has he had last 3 weeks, 40 mins?.. im fine with Rankin not our biggest problem but get that there are at least 3 other blokes that are much better than him. i would like to see Chee kam, Edwards and Griffin into the team at who's expense id leave that to the coach, all three have big engines that's what we need at the moment. Our second halfs have been terrible and thats comes down to match experience, and our young halfs making poor 5th tackle decisions

We all love Woods a terrific powerful workhorse and great tackler but I can't recall him getting the boys in a huddle when things were tough yesterday, but it could have been when I was at bistro getting coffee. When in huddle I hope they talk tactics as well but he is not the tactical person??

Because Farah does not have responsibility for the team I think he has a less mongrel in him but mongrel is what we need. I think it was his run-a-round with Woods that created one of those tries.

Farah still my be in half recovery with his knee so maybe too early to judge that aspect. He did not hog the ball but it did not improve us that much. His runs always make decent ground.

Lovett should have been hooked for that penalty, it was a shocker. He should have been penalised the very next play too for a flop. That penalty was very costly.
