Charlie Murray #300

Let’s hope he’s better than the other dolt he manages.
I think this is unfair.

Faataape offers as much as Naden but at half the cost. If our KOE squad had a handful of 18-23 year old guys with the output Faataape has given, we'd be much better served in depth.

If Junior Pauga is good enough to be Top 30 at the Roosters, Faataape is good enough to be a Top 30 player too. Low risk, low investment for moderate return.

East Tigers, pathway club.

Solomona Fataape, Tristan Hope and now Charlie Murray.

One thing, the Tigers debut players who'd likely never get a chance elsewhere.

Reuben Porter, Thomas Freebairn, these Q cup guys.... there is a chance at the Tigers for these journeymen types.
I moved from Sydney to Adelaide in the hope of being that journeyman! That was 20 years ago in 2005. They didn't need me back then but I sent my resume in to Richo & Bonge offering to warm the bench given the predicted chilly weather ahead. Still waiting. Meanwhile, I thought I got a nibble from Perth, but my Doctor said it was probably just fleas from my greyhound. 🤪 🍺

I named Charlie Murray on my bench , in the predicted team for Penrith game.

Noticed he had been added to the website team profiles a few days ago.

See what he's got, up against the best club albeit they're struggling.

I'm thinking we'll see a few of these lower graders move into the top 30, out of desperation, sadly.

Hopefully a few diamonds though like @Lestronge said.
I guess hes one of richos big surprises then

Good luck chuck

Charlie has genuine before the line playmaking ability and runs the ball reasonably well despite being a lightweight forward.
I’m happy to see him given a go at NRL level and mentioned him as an NRL possible many weeks ago, but selecting your bench is all about balance and the one we have named this weekend is very unbalanced and undersized to say the least.

Exactly right.

some people in storm Queensland system rate him, great bloke to boot.
Our middle defence is still pretty poor ..
They're good for 10-15min then the line speed really drops.. resulting in the opposition making plenty of yards.. getting a roll on and the tackles start falling off everywhere !! It all starts in the middle..
Maybe a nuggetty, tackling, go getter is what we need to stiffen up the middle.
Lets hope Murray is that guy ..
You never know to you give them a go.. he might surprise the hell out of us.. and probably himself ..

We have too many players that turn their back on the opposition and merely jog back into the defensive line - the opposition are targeting these defenders and that’s where we start back pedalling, our defence becomes disjointed when compensating. Basic coaching protocol is to move backwards in defence and do NOT turn your back on the opposition.
Good luck to Charlie but I’d like to see more of Kit

I wish your post finished like this
“there is a chance at the Tigers for these State Of Origin types.”

We are like the old opal or gem hunters on TV, always searching for that diamond in the rough.

Still good to see a young man get a crack, I hope he becomes the next Brad Clyde.

It’s Big Tony’s first run on game and I will be backing him to score a try as I usually do for our new immortals.

Go Chucky Muz!!!

Theres a very tangible reason why they dont get a chance elsewhere
How many have progressed into regular NRL players
Need the odd fringe filler who mite have some upside that nobody else has noticed by their mid 20s,but candidly we dont have a Bellyache to bring out their best(if there is one)

They're hardly journeymen - people know the journeymens names.
These blokes are literally no names until they get a couple games with us and vanish back to park footy.
