Chris Heighington

No, we do not have enough hole pluggers, hence the reason we leak so many points. He is not long term, but could play 1st grade for anoother year or 2.

What people seem to forget is that under a salary cap you need players of all abilities and $ values. I think this may have been mentioned in the paper today.

Problem is we have enough "players of all abilities", we need bloody game breakers. Game breaking outside backs. Gone are the days of Rankin and Naiqama, we need to move onto better things.

Yeah I saw the The Mole dropped a hint about a former WT player looking to come back - and it isn't Marshall.

Well if this is as good as it gets forget finals footy when the club actually wants to sign someone that better days were 3 seasons ago ,and I really thought this club was moving in the right direction! :brick:

There aren't too many options, I guess. Gower got a mention a while back. Nathan Brown does seem to be close to a few of the boys.

Im not saying the signing of Heigno would be a good move, I really haven't watched enough of him play over the last 5 years to have an informed opinion on him. What I will say is that I hear a lot of complaints when we sign those middle and lower tier players when every club needs to have these players. The problem is not the lower tier players we sign, its that we often do not have consistent upper tier players. Now Teddy has definitely become the exception to that, but that was more good luck than good management.

Actually no it isn't game breakers we need. We actually score plenty of points and have plenty of game breakers. What we lack is solid defensive players. We have the 2nd worst defence in the comp while having a top 8 attack and last year 6th best attack.

Naquiama for example is a game breaking outside back what he isn't is a solid defending outside back.

Rankin even has a heap of line breaks, Nofoaluma breaks tackles and scores tries

Jeff Lima is still playing for Canberra aswell.

It said former WT star player - which rules out Heighno and Fafita in my eyes. In fact it pretty well rules out any ex WT player if its not Benji.

I would interpret that as Fifita. Playing origin, he's the closest we have to a former star after Benji.

(I will say, these gossip columns are pretty loose with term "star")

Oh come one, according to these pages anyone who's played more than 40 games at a half decent level is a star. And anyone under the age of 21 is an exciting junior.

But in any case it was Heigno who was being referred to…
