Club Statement - Tedesco and Woods

Imagine Ted goes and Woods stays lol

This is the worst thing that could possibly happen. Tedesco going sucks but if he takes Woodsy with him it's worth it.

Ill be super pissed if Woods stays, I can swallow the pill if Ted stays too but Woods alone no way.

About bloody time they had a deadline …

But basically the club knows there gone !

What I said before Hobbo , again the club wants to come out smelling like roses

This takes the blame game and points it solely at Woods and Tedesco ….

So it should mate , they've had friggin long enough to put pen to paper …
You jumped down Farah's throat saying " no ones bigger than the club"

Same goes for Woods and Tedesco !

They're just a couple of procrastinating pansies deep down .
They want to know who the coach is :bawling
They want to play finals footy :bawling

They don't want to do the hard yards , that's what it comes down to !

Pretty good summation Hobbo. Woods and Tedesco could easily have avoided all this by putting pen to paper and announcing their plans some time ago. One thing I really dislike, people who procrastinate. Can't afford to do that in my line of work - go left, go right, just make a decision and make sure you justify the decision.

The smart money is that the club is attempting to soften the blow. They've basically said "you'll hear from us tomorrow". So if that's the case then what they tell us can only be bad news. They can't announce anything even if they did sign due to this COP crap.

This is 100% correct!

I think the club is sick of this dragging along and the longer it goes on the longer it gives the rorters and the dogs time to move players on, get TPA'S. I dont think they have signed with anyone yet for th3 club to come out and do this. I love the fact that if they don't sign it dimishes their value as our offers which are meant to be the highest are no longer their for isaac to use.

Disagree, I think we have agreed to terms with Johnson and Matulino but can't take the next step until these guys are sorted.

I like your optimism Milky.

Even if your scenario is not the case I think the guys have had ample time to decide. They wanted to know who the coach was going to be and now they've known for 3 weeks and they know what he's all about.

If Woods and Teddy aren't going to be on the bus that's fine but we need to start signing up some marquee players asap.

It's frustrating Parra have been able to pick up Evans when I would have thought he'd be one of our targets. That leads me to think Milky is onto something in that we are hamstrung in negotiations with more players until we know what these 2 are going to do

I won't be sleeping tonight based on having nightmares that Woods stays. I'll be onto helpline for sure.

So for the rest of the season we'll see Moses and Woods not giving a toss and Tedesco being out with a series of minor injuries. Whether we let them go now or make them honour their current contracts there is no upside for the rest of this season. Not much the club can do really as these tossers will still be travelling to the beat of their own self centred drums . I just hope the club can keep the rest of the guys focussed and try to attract some decent players as the rest of this season is looking like a write off. Will these three give 100% when the chips are down? I think not.

Really the club knew for 2 months we were going to get flogged a couple of weeks in a row triggering his sacking? If they'd won all 3 of those games do you think he would have been sacked? Should the club have told the players, just quietly, that if they had a crap start to the year the coach would get the punt? Honestly, just do a logic check on some of this stuff before always assuming everyone is incompetent…

The club approached Cleary in January asking his interests and then they made it official the night of the Canberra game

So they had a contingency plan in mind if they weren't satisfied with the performance of the coach, so what? You think they should've told the players that? "If you boys go crap, which by the way we think you probably will, the coach will be out the door". Honesty doesn't come into it, it's just none of their business. That would've completely undermined the coach and been grossly unprofessional.

If they'd been winning Taylor would still be coach. There was nothing to tell the players until it reached the point that they were moving the coach on, or had agreed to terms with another coach for 2018 and beyond.

The playing group is junk

The reason is because we can't recruit and rely so heavily on "potential"

The reason we can't recruit is because we are a basket case off field

Yet we don't really change off field , it just blames coaches and players

And management just assume most fans at this club are fools

And if fans can't see this , management is most definitely RIGHT

Clearly we are an under performing club however the doomsday rhetoric becomes tiring :unamused:. Management don't assume us to be fools but make decisions at the time that they believe to be the best for the club. Of course they haven't all been correct.

However, off field, things have changed and are changing. As the CEO recently wrote….:

"We have lifted the bar with our match day experience and as a consequence had the highest average crowd of any Sydney Club last season.

We have lifted the bar with our Membership offering and communication to Members and last year had our highest ever Membership tally, with just under 15,000 committing to the Club. This year we’re on track to beat that number.

We have lifted the bar in our commercial department and commercial offerings and as a result have sold all of our major properties for 2017\. We’re building great partnerships with a wide range of organisations and that will continue to grow into the future.

We have lifted the bar in building the leadership capabilities of our players and improving the wider Club culture. We want our players to work together on and off the field and are giving them the tools to be able to do this and to be able to have honest discussions with each other about what is needed on and off the field to achieve success.

We have lifted the bar in the level of capability of our staff, we’ve built up our high performance department, we’ve increased our wellbeing offering from one staff to four and as a result are now ranked second in the NRL in this area.

We have lifted the bar in our community engagement and now offer more than 34 genuine programs in six pillars and are looked at as a leader in the game in this area. We don’t just want to play in the West – we want to be an important part of the West community and a contributor to the community.

And finally we’ve lifted the bar in what we expect our players to do on the field and what we expect our coaching staff to do off it."

In addition we now have a coach with full control of recruitment and retention and are well advanced in funding for a centre of excellence. Sure there is more to do but the times they are a changing....

So why are all our players leaving if the times are a changin MC

Course you'll tell me its the players who are the problem :blah :blah :blah

Three months time , when we are questioning why we haven't recruited any signings of note what then …...

Maybe they'd forgo the COP in this instance? I'm with you though, fairly certain they're both leaving. They might even use this deadline as an excuse - "the club rushed us into a decision so I felt disrespected and had to sign elsewhere" 😢

So if they haven't signed with other clubs and sign with us, does that mean that technically we have to observe the COP and they could rescind?

Imagine the melt down if that was to occur

Im not sure what Woods' situation is but I've heard that he's gone. I can 99.99% accuracy tell you that the Roosters haven't formally offered Teddy anything yet. My mate has a great relationship with Roosters management and they are in the middle of putting something together now. Isaac Moses has been stalling to give Roosters time to table an offer. As of yesterday the was no offer from the Roosters. The Roosters were in the process of offloading SKD, Gurrea and Evans to make room for Teddy. They got rid of Evans but not the other 2 yet. This latest development will have the Roosters running but I think Teddy will have no choice but to sign with us because there is no other offers for him. Just wait for the "I love this club" line when he re-signs.

Im in the minority.

I would have done exactly what both Woods and Tdesco have done. Take tha advice of the manager and just string things along with generic responses whilst he attempts to extract everything he can for them.

These players do not owe us fans one thing. They owe themselves and the family the best deal. They owe the club, their employer 100% effort in return for payment. They may have to deal with the damage to their brand…....from us. Whoever they went to would be very happy.

Id like them to stay, and still hope, as long as the $$$ are fair. I wont suicide if they leave and whoever they replace them with, provided they give 100%, I'll support 100%.

Im not bagging either of them. Good luck to them. Think of yourself in your own workplace. Do you owe it to the people who buy your product to show them loyalty, or do you owe yourself and your family the best income and lifestylr. Easy choice for me.

I do blame the Manager for being a tool, but then they are all slippery grubs giving poor advice in some instances. I also wish they club never got into this position in the first place.

They don't have to offload SKD, Guerra and Evans because they're all off contract in 2018\. Your mate is at least a little bit off on his info.

Just guessing the Roosters need more time to offload Guerra and SKD to make room for an offer to Teddy.

If they leave they leave. They have had enough time to decide on their contracts. Make a decision already.
Theoretically if we pull our contracts their other offers will come down. If I'm roosters and I'm looking at Teddy - WTs offer 1million a year we have to match it, suddenly the WTs offer not there, I'm offering him $700000 and no more

So you're saying it's a strategic move from our club? Let's hope so.
