Hopefully if we are applying to have Matulino medically retired, we have an eye to upgrading Matterson first and foremost. That would have to be the number one priority ahead of giving Marshall and Lawrence a swansong.

I think Matterson should be made captain for 2020 and beyond.

I would have agreed 3 weeks ago. Not sure it sends a great message now.

Unless he shows a complete different attitude he should never be captain.

The wording is odd. No reason the club couldnt have released that and played it down as you just did. however they didnt which suggest this is deadly serious and he is about gone

or it simply could be none of anybodies business and out of respect for the player, and to stop reporters contacting the club every 5 minutes they simply put that out and ended it
