Connor Watson

Canberra are shedding players next year Clay Priest, Bateman have been offered to clubs including Tigers who have asked about Tapine.

Agreed… We should be impressed with how the smart clubs manage their cap, not whine and complain "it aint fair".

Demand more from your club. Demand better financial management. Demand the ability for the WT to be an operation other players want to come to.

I dont see this kid as a deal breaker for the Tigers... Talent =Yes; Good Player = Not Yet.

Better players will come along if we are active at the right coffee shops!

The competition table points for NRL these days is decided more by creative (?) accountants than by the players.

Tapine has talent and size and would be a great addition to our pack.

They just signed Knight and Oldfield. Most of those players mentioned are nufties, they paid big money for Tapine and Bateman is a bit of a workhorse.
I would be in no hurry to take any of them unless Canberra were paying most of their contract.
There will be other clubs looking to offload significantly better players

I think Tapine has a big upside and hasn't realised his full potential yet. The other two are solid enough defensive types, like better versions of Joel Edwards, but I don't particularly rate them. Bateman would be 2nd best IMO.

No interest in Priest or Bateman, we already have Twal and Eisenhuth that can perform a similar role. Tapine sure I'd be interested but I can't see the Raiders offloading him when they shelled about $500K for him in the not too distant past and he's shown some of his potential already.

Would take Tapine in a heartbeat.. But sadly, I can't see the Raiders letting him go.

There's no chance I agree. We need forwards in a hurry though. Our pack is still not strong enough.

the source of this article is usually unreliable but I can confirm that they are right on this one. Watson has requested a release to the Tigers

You're joking! What are we hoping to do with him?! Why does he want to come here?! Are the Roosters prepared to release him?! What about Tui?! What's going on?! This doesn't make any sense! I'm so confused!

X2 ??????

He will be getting over 100k more for the same position.

Teams who have to shed players will obviously try and offload their surplus to requirement stock first, its just a matter of keeping your cheque book in the drawer and forcing them to offload some quality, but i guess there are always clubs who will pick up the dregs

**Much prefer Tapine** over Watson…. don't see why we are chasing Watson and wasting $500k on him

Tapine is an accident waiting to happen - seems to have a massive chip on his shoulder and just cannot control his temper.

A big angry forward, sounds like exactly what we need.

He has the ability to create chances to score off the interchange. I agree he is exactly the forward we need.
