Connor Watson

I guess by having another look at the Knights setup means he has not signed anything yet. I would imagine its all about creating extra demand and forcing your price up. I also think Brown must be desperate, he has bugger all in the way of top shelve signings for 2018, so I am sure they have increased their offer.

Anyway as others have said, he would be a very handy signing but not the end of the world if he doesn't sign
 
This post is probably pointless but why all the speculation here over Watson? Does my head in, like a soap magazine, "hmm if he's touring Knights surely it's done, and you know the house prices in Sydney…"

It's like reading texts from my Mum. Watson has beem mooted but not confirmed, don't fill the empty news space with pointless speculation?

Someone earlier called this a saga. No saga except the ongoing nonsense people dream up here. A player trying to secure a release from his contract at a rich club is going to take time.

After years of signing broken down plodders I can understand why a player like Watson would create plenty of interest on the forum

Don't forget to wear clean undies dear in case you get hit by a bus…........

Agree with what you are saying but as someone else eluded to our season has been over since round 3- signing news and speculation is about the only thing interesting on this forum in this train-wreck of a season for our club.

At least we are out there signing players trying to stop train wreck seasons from happening in the future and as you said what else do we have to talk about in 2017???

I am differentiating between talking about the value of potential signings versus making predictions about what potential signings are thinking or going to do.

I.e. the difference between talking about Connor Watson's qualities as a player, where he might fit in etc.
versus
where he is touring, why he would choose Newcastle over Tigers, who he went for as a kid, what's going on inside his head, what impact our facilities might have on his choice, how much money he might want, what Nick Politis thinks about it etc.
 
Gordon is out for 8 weeks so we might get a good look at Watson playing fullback .
The chooks could also play Fergo at #1 but he's been iffy in the past there .

They were good enough for all the other players we've signed. Players that have played over 200 games, played grand finals and represented their state and country haven't been put off by them. But if a 21 year old unproven upstart has a problem, who needs him?

I get it. I'd suggest it's the deciding factor in most of these decisions despite the stories that get told.

If Watson ends up at Newcastle what does that mean for Dylan Phythian? I thought he was supposed to be a gun.

We all want better players and Watson has talent but it would be better if we spend money on forwards rather than positions we have players in like 5/8 or fullback.
If Tui can't cut it at the back we will be in trouble.
