Connor Watson

Rosters salary cap rorting

Gains - Tedesco

Loses - Guerra, Kenny-Dowall, Carter, Knight, Watson

NBA trade machine would accept (Chris Paul for Beverly, Dekker, Lou Williams, Harrell and a first round pick)

Not to mention that the cap is increasing upwards of 1.5-2 million…

So please can we dump the Roosters rorting the cap stuff?

You forgot Evans.

Honestly i think Cronulla is th e team most likely on the cusp of going over. Dugan is on 700-800k from next year. Thats added on to the rest. Usually when you win a premiership you lose a number of players due to increases in players wages because of winning a premiership/rep teams.

Whats our salary cap situation? 7.5 mill out of 9.5 mill?we should have a bit to spend still..

I think a large part of the attraction for players wanting to go to the Roosters, is not so much paper bags full of money ,even though they might exist, but the lifestyle included in living and partying in an area filled with the beautiful people

A team like the roosters is very smart and very very well connected.

Sure players go there for less. i.e Tedesco for the potential success the club can bring.

However there are little things they do "off the books"

There is a few cafe's and bars players can go to and never have to pay.
Cheaper new cars, clothes, electronics , holidays etc.

None of that would be reported on the salary cap.

Now i don't know if every club does things like that. Just going off what i have been told.

They are a club that is very well connected and there is opportunity for them to use those connections to help attract players.

The shortfall in everything you mentioned is probably covered by Uncle Nick in every instance

Tongue in cheek ?

So much rumour flying around ATM. Heard last night that Blake Ferguson is leaving now. So could mean Watson will stay.

**Tigers set to announce some more signings in the next couple weeks as well.**

Thanks scoop lol

Tigers will also announce some re-signings in the next couple of months

There's 2 in COP now I believe. Chill.

Any hints as to who? Forward, backs are they any good ect ect

Hard to compete with that

That's straw man, is anyone saying Roosters aren't shedding enough players to account for Tedesco?

It's more a question of how they have Cordner, Friend, Ferguson, Pearce, Kearey, Tupou, JWH, Latrell, Napa… and then ADD Tedesco. The team even minus Tedesco asks plenty of scrutiny how so many high-profile footballers fit under the cap. They had 5 going at one point in the Origin series and doesn't include JWH obviously. Storm only had 5 reps, Broncos 7 and they prop up the QLD side.

3 years 1.8mil to the knights. They wanted him more and got him. Atleast we will have Nathan from 2019

SG you can't possibly know how much he signed for with another club… so why post a figure

You can't possibly know that I can't possibly know.

Working on probabilities….is highly unlikely unless you are a SC auditor, that you know he signed for 1.8M.... only today to suggest it may not happen....see...you are probably wrong!.

connor watson 500-600k makes sense to me. Knights had to up the offer. They have no 5/8.

SG can you tell us if those two players are forwards or backs? Hope there forwards.

I live near concord. I'm happy to put on a pair of tight shorts and parade around a bit for the boys to make them feel welcome.

I'll drop it when they stop rorting the cap. Look at their team and adding Tedesco to it. They are clearly rorting the cap.

I'll have a guess at Elijah Taylor being one and Kyle Lovett being the other but they already have their own threads…

Mods is there a way to move the unrelated conversation to another thread?

Not trying to stifle conversation, but it is easier to keep all of the hints and buzz feed style reporting to the rumours thread imo.

Otherwise next year the Connor Watson thread will have 2,000 pages complaining about teddy playing well, the roosters rorting etc….meanwhile Connor will be at Newcastle wondering why random tigers fans keep calling him a traitor and why we made signs slandering his good name especially for the massive occasion that will be spoon bowl 2018

I know I'm a bit late. Care to elaborate on the Cleary statement, SG? I'm honestly curious
