I'll relay a personal story. It's an update.

My SIL say a month ago rang up my wife and stated to catch up in the Eastern Suburbs. She married a Lebanese Muslim and she is now living in Greenacre or Lakemba or something. They are good people.

Anyway she stated "she wasn't putting those chemicals into her body" and was completely fine with traveling from a hot spot to the Eastern Suburbs. My wife said no and told her to get vaccinated twice.

She has like 10 kids. I think most of them (probably 6) are living with her in Sydney atm. Some are in Saudi Arabia where they typically live. They are staying in her in-laws house and it's multi-generational.

Anyway they've caught COVID. There must be 15 people living in that house. 2 at this point don't have it.

It's really bad because I'm pretty sure there are highly vulnerable people living there and I'd be surprised if there wasn't a death in the family.

Sorry to hear that Earl and particularly for your partner's blood connection, I really hope that none become unwell.

It reinforces the issue of numbers in dwellings etcetera that hits these suburbs much harder.

but its ok it will only last for afew days.
Arm and leg will lag behind you when you walk.
But as the days pass they will retract.

Currently on my third call to the booking centre as the muzak just cuts out after 30 minutes. Been trying to get through for over two hours. I get there is high demand but you would think the current situation and their urging everyone to get vaccinated might inspire them to increase capacity.

My wife has been really angry in relation to this stuff recently.

My take is that we all need to be patient and accepting of the situation. The situation is that we are in a pandemic with an outbreak of the Delta strain and we are delivering so many jabs now the system is under pressure.

My daughter is lining up now to get her jab and she has texted me stating the queue is massive.

I view all of this as fantastic. I think people want to get vaccinated and we are delivering heaps of jabs.

I'm not disagreeing re the patience and understanding but given the gravity of the situation you would think they had learnt their lesson re not making things doable. QLD/ SA and WA aren't perfect but gee miles ahead of the clown in charge of NSW.

That "gold standard" is looking more like corroded tin every day

I only leave home to collect my shopping (direct to boot,) which I do online. I am the only one who leaves the house.

I work from home.

I homeschool my son.

I exercise by taking walks around the local lake or going for a bushwalk.

I have only left home for an annual cardiologists appointment and to drive my wife to a pregnancy ultrasound appointment, which I could not attend so I sat in the car.

Pray tell, am I doing the wrong thing @pawsandclaws1 ?

Congratulations on the pregnancy. A shining light in a time of darkness.

Thanks mate, nice to know there's still lead in the pencil haha...

A little girl this time, so got the pigeon pair. Wife is sick as a dog this time around.

**Rule breaking not to blame for rising cases**

After authorities repeatedly admonishing large numbers of people for doing the wrong thing, the deputy chief health officer for NSW has said non-compliance is not to blame for the rising cases.

Dr Marianne Gale said the virus is mostly spreading among young people and essential service workers.

"One of the major drivers of the higher case numbers that we’re seeing in the areas of southwestern Sydney and Western Sydney is larger households that we’re seeing," she said.

"We’re seeing younger people and those who are often those authorised workers, those people that provide essential services, who work in aged care, work in disability, who work in healthcare settings, who work in factories, work in shopping centres. And so, transmission is happening between workplaces and households.

Too true. A great example of **don't believe the hype** and unless something changes, we will be lucky if those so called "green shoots" can be seen by summer.

That said, there needs to be greater compliance, as even if it isn't a major contributor, it still has an effect. Last week I was expecting that we were going to be approaching 500 cases a day at this point and there on Friday, but looking as though it will be 50% worse than that and still growing.

Poor analogy. Corroded tin would still provide some protection.

Exactly. They have multiple generations living in the same house and they have large numbers of children. My SIL has like 10 kids.

my golf club a group one club in a LGA of concern is looking to arrange tee time block bookings with other clubs all over Sydney, members complete survey on where they like and the club will contact golf clubs in there area 5km from home
this shows how the rules are around yet stretched.
Probably time golf stops and bike riding etc stops

My daughter and I have just gotten back from a bike ride (a few laps around our block) where we didn't come within 5 mtrs of another group of people. I was wearing a mask the entire time, how is this any different than people out for a walk or jog? There has to be some way to maintain a level of fitness.

Myself and my wife go for a walk everyday. We are both fully vaccinated and wearing masks. I don't like people jogging and riding their bikes not wearing their mask. It feels I'm protecting them and I'm safe whereas the flip side isn't true.

Still I don't believe that wearing masks outdoors is very effective. I do think it shows how some people aren't getting it still.
