We are connected to people from all parts of the globe now more than ever in the history of human existence. Now more than ever I think we have a symbiotic relationship with our friends in Russia; China; USA etc

It's important not to marginalise different groups. Especially considering we are mostly from Australia and we live in such a CALD society/country predicated on multiculturalism.

I think the real question is do we stop eating meat ?

We could all definitely cut back ????

I love your username stating this as well. Seriously meat eating kills so many people via lifestyle diseases and all of these viruses come about from eating meat.

We should be cutting back significantly.

Definitely mate 🙂
I don’t won’t to preach or go off topic
But meat a few times a week is more than enough
It’s crazy how people are eating it every meal.
Rant over ✌?

It kinda does matter where it started. Not just because it could give some insight into a possible vaccine but to help stop it happening again.

What lifestyle diseases does eating meat cause?

Genuinely curious.

I know it's off topic but we've cut down on our meat intake. We still eat a bit of chicken, maybe twice a week, but we limit consumption to about 100g per meal each for my wife and I, and we eat red meat once a fortnight, maybe three weeks. Our son eats meat more regularly than us as he's a fussy eater and meat is important for kids.

Vegetarian meals are more common with us now. And I feel better for it.

The origin of the virus is really important.

What lifestyle diseases does eating meat cause?

Genuinely curious.

It's a fairly broad statement to make. It all depends on the type of meat and amount of intake and your lifestyle as well.

Example, if you're eating new york strip steaks every night, generally eat garbage during the day and not exercising appropriately, you're probably going to develop heart disease, weight issues and the dramas that come with that (diabetes, bowel problems etc.)

If you are eating lean mince once a fortnight with a homemade spaghetti sauce and not going crazy on pasta it's a pretty healthy meal.

High red meat intake has been linked to heart disease and certain cancers (pancreatic cancer is linked to high red meat intake as a risk factor along with smoking.)

Like anything, overconsumption is dangerous and moderation is key.

Like I said earlier though it's happened previously and not in China. It's an inherent risk of eating meat. Should we all go vegan ?

I agree with you. Some meat is probably okay. If you ate lean mince in a homemade spaghetti sauce once per week you are probably fine. Same as having a little bit of cheese or eggs or whatever. The point is though the average intake is probably massively over consuming.

If we were all eating whole food plant based though the instances of lifestyle diseases (and virus infection from animals) would drop off the chart.

Coming from a beer drinking meat eating Tiger supporter.

If after having such unhygienic practices that they have allowed a pandemic to occur, and after trying to hide it and deny it, then if they find a vaccine and don't share it with all those countries who they have caused thousands of deaths to have occurred... wow.

I guarantee that would increase ill will towards that country. I hope for their sake, that they wouldn't be that incredibly stupid.

Wow.

So we shouldn’t mention the Chinese Cause they May launch a virus out of anger?

Come on man you’ve just gone from preaching understanding to saying that a country is capable of launching a world wide biological attack out of spite.

My point, vaccine is important. If the movies are anything to go from understanding patient zero is important. Racists gunna racist no matter what, I just want to quickest route to being able to buy TP and go to the footy.

We are eating pretty similar bogan
Definitely feeling some positive effects

I’d never say meat is bad ,but eating large amounts every day to me just seems unnecessary

No I suggested the Chinese could get the vaccine and then not hand it out to idiotic countries whose politicians spew vitriol for the sake of themselves

The blame game can start AFTER we have sorted this out and found a vaccine

Honestly it's at times like this to be logical and this is just an opportunity for the ignorant and racist among us to come up with conspiracy theories and scream that the dirty Chinese are the problem.

We've had these outbreaks previously and we need to calm down and put stuff into perspective. I can't see human beings stopping eating meat but blaming the Chinese for this probably isn't fair especially when we've had Trumpy stating really dumb stuff and not only that. Some westerners are so arrogant that they believe they can just keep going on with their normal lives.
