Night curfews in those LGAs of conern is required. Citizens still not doing the right thing.
Will night curfew make a difference?

Yeah I don't think so, I can't speak for the flatlands, but up here there's basically no one but transport on the road after about 7-8pm.

Lab immediately mssged me advising 24/48 hours results back when I gave my details... Will be 48 hours about 4pm today
At least the sun's out and we have a backyard ?
I'd go bonkers in a unit with no balcony
I got tested on Tuesday as well and had my results on Tuesday night.
Yeah but your a mod

i thought you were allowed to work as long as you have proof you were tested?
that's what my job told everyone,
get tested every 3 days, come to work pending results

That's what I thought too... Spoke to a manager today, my company apparently working on a testing roster for everyone... they want to be certain all staff are neg before they return every three days .... I don't see how this roster can be viable though considering factors out of their control = test result time frames

Stubborn to political ideology, arrogant to deflect any criticism and close minded to any policy settings that have "worked" elsewhere. There is clear evidence that a more stirct and stringent lockdown, implemented after just a couple of delta cases surfaced, would have had this under control by now. Evidence?? Try Victoria and SA. She is leading us to hell in a handbasket. But, just like Scummo, she'll blame it all on 'health advice" and try to convince us she's the saviour.
Guess what Gladbags and Scummo?? We're not buying it. You're cooked. Resign before you cause even more pain for the citizens you purport to represent.
Australia’s approach has been to build a wall and keep the virus out. That approach fails once that wall is breached, and the Delta variant is breaching that wall. Time for a different strategy. My suggestion would be to get everyone vaccinated in the shortest possible time.

I can't see any way the lockdown will finish at the end of August. My guess is, given where the numbers are now, the earliest we'll get out is the end of September and even that is doubtful. Even with the best will in the world, vaccination rates will not reach herd immunity levels by the end of August. Maybe by the end of September but highly unlikely.
Big question is will the government try to extend lockdown at the end of August and, if they do, how will the community react.

I doubt if the general community will act at all well.Human nature being what it is even the people(most of us) who understand the need for caution will be peeved. As for the lunatic deniers and conspiracy types they will keep their collective heads where the sun dont shine

At some point, and I don't know where that is, we are just going to have to open up and let the cards fall where they may. You'd expect that point will be decided by vaccination rates. My view, and plenty will disagree, is that level should be closer to 50% than 75%.

Equally, disagree massively with you. I'm aware of two employers who have organised vaccinations for staff (one a major age care provider) and the voluntary vaccination rate was 75%. One quarter of staff refused to be vaccinated on conscientious grounds. 75% is a total pipedream and represents 100% of willing participants. You won't get 80% unless somebody fudges the figures. 50% represents two thirds of willing participants which will do me.

Define safe, no-one can because there is no such thing as truly safe. If we have 50% of the population fully vaccinated, results will be better than they are today. It's unrealistic to think people won't get sick and that, sadly, some will die. It's a risk-reward question.
