I suppose it is good to be a NSW resident when we will likely get freedoms earlier than some others thanks in part to advantaged Pfizer vaccine rollout allocations above and beyond that which was agreed.
To our forum brothers and sisters in Victoria with reportedly some 300k of their allocation diverted and greater numbers of AZ recipients with it's problematic much longer shot timing, I feel for you guys being booted around and used as a football. With division seeded by a foreign owned media mogul and politicians, rioting on your streets as a result, whilst also having to wait longer because of the allocations, it is a disgrace.
I don't think too many people in Victoria would have begrudged Sydney receiving the lion's share of the additional Pfizer vaccines obtained from Poland. You guys had the greater need at the time.
The fact that the federal government also secretly diverted other Pfizer vaccine allocations to NSW was contemptible. But I doubt they've heard the last of it. Their report card is due to arrive in the mail very shortly and the subject of Covid management will feature significantly, I suspect.
Contemptible indeed that as the veiling is removed as much as transparency and availability of information makes possible, apart from the disparity in the allocation numbers, as each day passes it appears that there is another case of politically coloured spreadsheets at play unfolding.
If, and it is increasingly looking that way, the still somewhat hard to obtain Pfizer vaccine has also been prioritised to electorates held by the government under the federal controlled rollout to other than the state run facilities , that is despicable. Particularly so if the armed forces have been used to facilitate it and used as cover.
I haven't read or heard anything in regard to preferential vaccine rollout based on electorates.
I was annoyed by the fudging of vaccine allocations, simply because they weren't up front about it. At first they denied it, saying the vaccines came from existing stockpiles, then they had to deny that they actually had stockpiles and then, eventually, the truth came out. It annoys me that the "go to" position for this government seems to be to lie about things and see if they can get away with it.
Meanwhile, in Victoria, our position was rapidly deteriorating. Two of my sons, both under 35, made the decision that the risk of contracting Covid was greater than the risk of blood clots and decided to get the AZ vaccine. Maybe that was a decision/risk that they shouldn't have been obliged to take. Who knows whether the 340,000 Pfizer vaccines secretly diverted from Victoria would have negated the need for them to take that risk had they been dispatched in accordance with the agreed allocation.
