These so called super coaches are a myth in my opinion.
Des, Bellamy, Robinson and Bennet are only super coaches because they only coach for the powerhouse clubs, who can rort the TPA system to develop a big name player roster.
Put Des in charge of Newcastle in 2017 for example and he will do no better Nathan Brown will given the players they have.
And because they only coach for rich clubs they command million dollar salaries.

As you say, give any of the "supercoaches" a dud team and they won't be able to get much more out of them than a supposed crap coach.
Not disagreeing, but i think our 2005 team while not substandard wasn't seen as a team that was going to take out the GF and Sheens got them there. Benji and RF where technically rookies, Prince was an injury prone discard, our pack was small so and so on. Would a lesser coach have gotten them there who knows but IMO probably not.
