Do we keep Mbye?

May be wrong, but from my memory most of the defensive issues are caused from Luciano Leilua but Moses usually shows zero effort and is totally uncooperative in helping with any cover defence. I honestly saw him twice yesterday just watching the Bunnies player run through/past him.
I believe the earlier suggestion that there's possibly a current injury (for Luciano) restricting him a fair bit but that his fitness and ability to play a full 80 minutes is also a problem, this year.
But yeah I agree with everyone else about that side being the team's biggest headache.

Good guy or not it's totally unacceptable IMO. He's not even willing to lift a finger and no way should it be rewarded.
If a player is struggling I'd like to see their teammates help them. I know they never had the best game but I noticed how Tamou and Twal helped Liddle with the defensive load. The team needs to come together, not stand back and watch.

It is totally abhorrent.. Joey even said it’s under 12s bad defence, he has no commitment to put his body in the contest…. He could care less about the Tigers and their fans….Deplorable actually because he gas all the natural talent , skill and ability needed to be Kalyn Ponga like.. Mbye is quick, strong, has good hands and is experienced but he refuses to put his body on the line or to have a go….. even his passes are hesitant and offputting ….. he is just a passenger and Madge picks him? This us the real problem, that Madge continues to pick a player that is so lacking commitment and desire for success on the field… Madge has no defence, picking a player playing this bad reflects incredibly poorly on his coaching ability ..it is that plain and simple

Tanking and not even hiding it.

Lowest of low to wear our jersey

His predecessor will debut for NSW at his week….thereby almost ruining the game for me, having to watch that tanker that used the tigers play in the team that has spent 2 games restoring my love of Rugby League…. I feel so conflicted

Watch the game with the hope of seeing him get smashed.

Mbye has been recovering from an injury to get back in the side....when he played the first few games with Brooks plenty of people had a good view of him improving Lukes play...I think at this stage of his career he is a solid 14 for any team...the low barrage of crap thrown at him by some who dont even know him but think they can inflick verbal atrosities at him because the team isnt winning shows the lack of knowledge of the clubs politics...firstly he is an Ivan signing which we have had to keep so far...he always represents the club well...he was great early before injuries hit and now I feel his career is coming to a close....some others in the squad get away with crap because they are liked by fans others arent...its human nature...
[/QUOTE]

@TrueTiger : if Mbye is still recovering from an injury that's a pretty good reason for his terrible display on Sunday :+1 said:
So instead of abuse, we should actually be saying 'thanks for having the guts to play injured' :+1: .

But doesnt that show how pathetically low we are with reasonable replacements?

Who is the bigger tanker?

Compare the pair....Moses in his last game v Mbye yesterday....

Mbye 3 x as many runs for almost 4 x as many metres. Moses never even got tackled. Moses missed 9 tackles to Mbyes 3.

Mbye isnt even Moses league as a tanker, but he still has time.

Good post 5150 : argument settled then.

I dont think its a glowing endorsement for Mbye that he is a slightly less worse tanker than the GOAT.

But your stats seem to show him in quite a good way, particularly in comparison to the GOATT.

Thanks for reminding me of another great loss against Souff's..

Slightly less of a tanker than Mitchell Moses is not a KPI I'd encourage.

Can someone be pleas provide a breakdown on Moses Mybes defensive efforts vs Souths.

Any reasonable fan who watches it will come to the same conclusion as those calling him out for tanking.

Collectively he was utter garbage and not trying. The guy dogged it.

The guy has a knee injury, if he can't change direction to tackle, he should not be on the field.

And that says a lot about the depth....plenty of hopefuls but not NRL proven yet ....a sad truth of the youth not being ready....

Oh that Mitch Moses game is the all-time tank. Only time in my life I thought a player played badly on purpose. Just refused to tackle. Even my Souths brother-in-law messaged me to ask what the deal with Moses was.

Hated the bloke ever since.

On the other hand I think Mbye does try, he's just lost all semblance of confidence. The bloke has played grand finals and Origin, but 2021 Mbye is a shadow of anything he was.

All of our players are shadows

"Externally, all those little problems look like big issues in the group but from inside these walls, the group's been really good. A good way to judge the group will be how we respond this weekend against Souths." Mbye talking about the 66 point flogging.
He needs to go, he wants to go. That’s how it looks to me.

Picking Mbye weekly, would have a negative effect on the whole side. Iv'e said this previously, one bad apple is all it takes to poison the batch. Why Madge kept playing him is a mystery, even Madden would have added enthusiasm, and the results would not have been worse.
