Doing what exactly?

His defence and workrate and quality plays were all awesome. It was a great effort.

He did nothing special today whatsoever.

I see it differently. Did you see the try saving tackle when Cleary busted us open and passed it to someone and who was there chasing to make the tackle - ET.

That saved us a try. He consistently does work like that. If you don't see it I suggest you watch the next game and look for the effort that he makes.

I saw the tackle. It was a great tackle. No one doubts his effort. Its his physicality to back up that effort which is a concern in the modern game. Elijah Taylor in the 80's would have been one of the best locks in the game. But it's not 1980.

I hear what you are stating and sometimes I think the same way in relation to his physicality. He definitely doesn't have enough impact typically on the edge but today I thought he was great.

Maybe a better way to look at it is where does he compare in defence vs offence compared to other players in the team. To me he more than holds his own and he looked good on the edge today. I've also noticed him taking some hospital passes recently and he hangs onto the pill whereas a lot of players would drop it.

I've been thinking it's okay if he goes because on the edge he doesn't have enough impact and we need 3 props in the middle all game but today showed me that he can hold his own on the edge.

Going to be upset in the lead up to Leichhardt…Big part of Cleary's plan..

I hardly ever see him on the field tbh. He reminds me of Alan Tongue a lot - a workhorse, but nothing special. I'd keep him for depth, but Eisenhuth, McQueen, Aloiai, Marsters and even Lawrence all offer more, imo.

Despite entering the field carrying a rib injury and apart from getting in the way when Lolohea was looking to pick out Masters (on which the commentators had no idea) I thought he more than held his own, both starting out wide before going off again injured and when he came back on in the middle.

He regularly ran with enough vigor and turned to find his front, getting a quicker play the ball than most, if not all, and his efforts held our struggling middle together for a long time when he came back on. He is also head and shoulders above the rest of them at slowing the ruck.

To me he seems to be trying too hard - rushing in to tackle where he doesn't need too and then trying to rush to the next tackle - he is beginning to miss tackles he would never have missed before and i think its because he trying to do too much.

Really sorry to say this as I really like him …. but.
His game has definitely dropped off in the last couple of months.
He still produces 100% in effort ...... but very much like Lawrence template game. Very easy to read his attacking lines.... and in the end a good bench player.

His future in the side may reside in the number 9\. Solid defender with some spark with the ball around the ruck.

McIlwrick definitely gets tired towards the back end. I'd rather stick Taylor on the bench at JLJ's expense who has played 3 minutes in the last 2 weeks. At least Taylor can keep the middle tight and McIlwrick's workload can be lessened.

Absolutely. Many blew a stack when Jason Taylor played him at 9 due to a couple of forward passes. However that was just due to inexperience in the position. A full off season training for the role, even losing a little size, could see him do well at hooker.

We are getting there, Taylor just needs more help so he's not making 40-50 tackles per game. Hooth and Twal are helping sure-up the middle and Taylor is better used on the edge.

No his hitups are not going to be gangbusting charges but he is smart and he does take some good options in attack.

Did he do anything special? Hardly anyone did today but ET was there when it counted, made a lot of covering tackles, many 1-1.

He's a good all-around footballer and I don't see why you'd not want him to stay at the club, for all the lack of depth we have. ET fits well into a well-balanced side, something we still don't have yet.

I agree. ET is a keeper.

Problem is we won't have a well-balanced side for a few years. For me, ever since Cleary took away ET's ball playing role, his value to the team has diminished significantly. I like ET but am worried that he leaves us a man short in attack.

Good post. Hopefully we sign him up on a long term contract. He is the sort of player who you can build a club around.

We can't overpay the guy though. We have to have learned from our mistakes when it comes to overpaying guys and having a dud squad. I doubt many clubs are clammering to get ET. We should lock him up on a good contract for us and him.

WESTS Tigers forward Elijah Taylor could miss the end of the season with shoulder and rib injuries, but will this week confirm he will stay at the NRL club in 2018.

Taylor will be sent for scans on Sunday morning after he left Allianz Stadium in a sling following the 22-18 loss to the Sydney Roosters.

In further bad news for the Tigers, halfback Luke Brooks will also undergo scans on his troublesome hamstring ahead of Friday night’s clash with North Queensland.

His injury is considered far less serious, as he finished the game and his tests are considered only precautionary.

But Taylor’s pains are thought to be far more worrying, as aggravated his already-injured ribs in a tangle with the Roosters’ Blake Ferguson.

“I had Ferguson in a wrestle and I just heard my ribs pop,” Taylor told AAP. “I was pretty sore in the second half. I tackled (Boyd) Cordner and I just hurt my shoulder.

“I’m more concerned about the shoulder, I can jab my ribs. I’ve had rib issues for the past month but I will get scans on the shoulder tomorrow.”

Taylor’s long-term future has been up in the air for a number of months after he failed to take up an option in his deal at the Tigers to extend his current deal into next season.

He had been contemplating a return home to the Warriors, but has also received advice from doctors for his one-year-old daughter to remain in Sydney as she battles illness.

“I’m taking the doctor’s advice as always,” Taylor said.

“It’s a huge factor in the decision — a massive factor.” The Tigers will this week confirm both his and forward Matt Eisenhuth’s long- term future at the club into next season.

He'll be here next year.

What's your link mate? You seem to know what's going on and you're fairly definite in your predictions.

It's a bit rude asking someone whose providing inside info what their link is. I'd just be greatful he"s providing the info.
