Ennis comes up short

We hit the lead, next set Ennis decides to kick for the first time in the gmae, its foruth tackle and its a pathetic kick, QLD on the front foot from the first tackle, Scott charges through Ennis to give QLD great momentum….QLD score next tackle. Well done Ennis, you didnt kick all game but decided to take over at the worst possible time.

This isnt a hate Ennis thread cos we have Farah, its just stating fact that he let us down at a time when it was ours to lose.

And another thing, Sam Thaiday is kidding himself, chasing Mitchell Pearce for a fight when Beau Scott was right in front of him. He didnt want anything to do with Scott. Not the first time Thaiday has proved to be a dog.

Yeah I thought to myself why kick early in their half when we have the lead…...I wondered at the time what Stuart would think of that.
No one else knew the kick was on it seemed.
Thjat said i think our starting props let us down more.

the kick, the terrible mistake at dummy half 10 mtrs out and failing to stop Scott from getting well over rhe advantage line were probably his only mistakes - but they were costly - apart from that he had a reasonable game. The problem still is he offers no flair in attack. Although he threw the first pass in the Pearce try it was more Bird( grub jnr ) step and poor qld defense that led to the try. After all that he will now be a permanent fixture in SOO.

What about Ennis' dropped ball in the first half 10m out?

Im more p*ssed off with Gasnier and Morris though.

Gasnier drops the bomb which lead to QLD's 2nd try because Morris didnt want the ball. He then stands there and watches Slater go past him, and then to seal it he drops the ball again.

I gave it to my mate who is a Dragons supporter saying it is a 'Dragonesque choke'.

Ennis was awesome for NSW in defense and this was the first time I actually felt his niggle played a part. He didn't do much in attack but it was my understanding he wasn't supposed to. Ennis didn't play himself out of a jersey. Dean Young, Mark Gasnier, Brett Morris, Jason King are the four to come into question for mine. Farah, Idris, Hayne and Learoyd-Lahrs may come into reckoning.

Yeh i expected more from Snowden. I think Luke Douglas has doen enough to get a spot but i doubt he will. Merrin had a decent debut but i wasnt overly impressed with Mannah. King was ok but he shouldnt have ever been there, he'd be the first id drop. Id go Douglas for King and Galloway for Mannah.

But the same 17 will be picked and i guess thats to be expected.

Love Uate, he was great

Ennis is too much of a one dimensional player and predictable. Offers nothing attack other than anything passing from dummy half which a dozen other dummy half's can do.

NSW won't change the side - possibly a prop for Young - the selectors have blinkers on - you only had to listen to Gould et al gushing about what a wonderful team effort - when really the four players you named were extremely poor and hardly deserve a second chance.

I think if NSW played Farah as a starter and brought Gidley off bench would be a good mix . Ennis was not great but someone was having a shot at Ennis almost missing Matt Scott 80% of the NSW supposed hard men missed Scott as well .

anyone that thinks ennis had a decent game because of his defence is kidding themselves. cameron smith was not man of the match by luck, he gave a rugby lesson in the hooker position tonight, he was quite simply brilliant and ran rings around nsw's supposed built for origin hooker and a blow in hooker/second rower that cant play 80mins. both ennis and young offer nothing in attack…zilch.

The English commentators I was listening to repeatedly made the point that when Ennis fumbled the ball at dummy half late in the first half, NSW had a huge overlap to the right and all he had to do was pass it to them.

NSW lost. If they don't improve the team, NSW will continue to lose. Hayne, Carney and Farah to save NSW!

NSW were a better side when he came on. Apart from 2 costly mistakes I thought he went alright. Hurts to say that.

NSW would be better served finding starting props who have a go. King and snowden were useless

Yea thats true - Scott was awesome - unfortunately it was that tackle by Ennis that immediately put qld on the front foot - i don't understand why he allowed Scott to play the ball so quickly - in every other tackle he was all over the player to the point i think he was lucky not to be penalised yet that tackle he made no attempt to hold scott down.

anyone that comes on with fresh legs after 30mins is going to go better than the player the subbed in a highly involved position like hooker. it just made him look good. if they want to do this stupid hooker sub next game then farah should at least be there, his attack will shine when qld is tired.

king was crap, snowden went ok. but as they got close and led for half a fart and thought they'd win it they wont make any changes next game knowing the brains that run nsw.

Thats right on the money Glebe. He offers nothing.

Ennis went alright tonight apart from his two errors. Young king need to go and farah Hayne or gidley if fit need to be on the bench to add some spark it would of been good as the toads got tired in the end if the first half replace mennis for farah he would have carved them up!!

Have to laugh that a hooker who is "built for origin" doesn't even play the full game…
