Read today Wests tigers players said Farah was giving it to Burgess after the eye gouge until he eventually got hooked/injured.

Legendary NRL referee Bill Harrigan says he would suspend Rabbitohs enforcer George Burgess for an entire season for his ugly eye gouge on Robbie Farah. Burgess has been in the firing line this week after he was sent directly to the judiciary for a gruesome eye gouge on Farah early in the Tigers’ Thursday night rout of the Rabbitohs.
Burgess, who has a 50 per cent loading from a previous eye-gouge ban, is expected to be given at least a 10-match suspension which would likely see the Englishman sidelined for most the remaining season, but Harrigan argued it wasn’t enough.
“I’d give him the season,” Harrigan told Triple M Radio. “Not just (the rest of) this season, I’d give you a season. “It’s a pretty poor effort in any game and in our sport and you’ve got to be rubbed out.
“Look at the damage you can do to a bloke’s eye. Why are your hands or fingers anywhere near a bloke’s face? “You stick your fingers around a bloke’s mouth and they bite it, bad luck. But you stick your fingers in a bloke’s eyes and you get what’s coming to you.
NRL guru Phil Gould branded Burgess behaviour as “the lowest act in the game” and echoed Harrigan’s call for the judiciary to throw the book at the 27-year-old. "It's one of the worst things that can happen to you on the field, to feel someone's finger in your eye and the damage it can cause. It's not a good feeling. "They got this out of the game in the 80s ... I thought all this was done. "Players regard it as the lowest act in the game. You can do whatever you like to a player, he'll find an excuse for you, but gouging - there's no excuse for it." Burgess will face the judiciary on Tuesday night.

Could be 12 to 15 weeks, he plead guilty apparently so is eligible for a 25% reduction. Will be interesting to see the final result.

@hobbo1 soft decision in the end. He’s got form and admitted guilt. Shockingly he’s eligible to return in time for the finals.

Wow I'm surprised, 9 matches is big suspension. Especially considering the grub from North Qld only very recently gets a fine for also doing it twice! There is no excuse for that kind of inconsistency.
